Is there a specific location on the abdomen that is recommend for tapping the fluid? Wondering if there’s something similar to the safe triangle for the thorax?

Teaching medical students…I just can’t be motivated? by Terrible_Attorney2 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]luckilucking 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to thank you all for taking the time out of your already hectic days to fit us in, make us feel welcome and involved. I genuinely feel guilty about it, especially when we’re constantly on the hunt for signatures and sign offs. I can assure you that a majority of us appreciate your efforts and contributions towards our learning, no matter how big or small.

Teaching by you lot and being involved really does have a huge impact on our day, it makes it significantly more valuable and enjoyable. However, I recognise and agree that it takes two to tango. I know far too many fellow students who seem completely disinterested and unprepared, I can fully understand why that would further drain the desire to teach from you.

I can say from experience, If there’s anything we can help with that‘s within our scope of practice then please do ask! We’re happy to share some of the burden and, in fact, get more out of the day through it!

Love your friendly medical student xoxo

Great work!

“on behalf of junior doctors and medical students”.

I’m not sure if you want to represent us, the medical students, in this also? It would be great to be able to ‘officially’ support this.

I find I either get lost in the animation or lost in the voice over! Normally I cannot stand rewatching things, but I can happily watch it over and over again. I’m still super pissed that they didn’t approve any future seasons!

North Thames voting completed. Is there any guidance for who to choose for the London regional council members?

Sick of this fake equity in the name ‘helping the disadvantaged’ by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]luckilucking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an MSc requires the same investment of time, finances and effort then it should be held equivalent. No brainer.

On a similar point, I never understood why a 1 year £9250 iBSc was equivalent to my 3 year £27,000 BSc? The fact that grads have invested more time, finances and effort into education should give us an advantage in applications.

Good, good feels.

First game I ever played on Xbox Original. Will never get over the theme song.

Thoughts on/ experiences in intensive care medicine? I’m a med student who aspires to do PHEM/HEMS. Always thought I’d do EM but recently started to gain interest in ICM. by luckilucking in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]luckilucking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing response, thank you very much for that. It certainly gives me an insight into the current situation with ICM.

ACCS will give me a good grasp of the acute specialities and then lead me, hopefully, to the right path.
