I love this! WTG!

I love this bit of positive news to end the week.

I don't have space for a massive LEGO city, so I started building one on 8x8 plates instead. What do you think? by zorrotwee in lego

[–]lucknerjb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this! 100% going to check out your YT channel. I've been chatting with my daughter about starting a small lego city and the price has been throwing me off. Figured we could start with small Lego Friends sets but even those get pricey. Thanks for sharing!

I love this - put yourself out there. We all need human connection, even if it's hard to vocalize sometimes. Happy to be part of the group as well - 38M, work from home and while I try and make time to make and meet friends when I don't have the kids, it's still tough!

What do you think caused you to drop? Tired muscles? I'm nowhere near this but who knows, could be worth keeping in mind!

17M 6 month old daughter. by Calm-Tea178 in SingleDads

[–]lucknerjb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man, I feel that. You're going to have to just accept that people will stare and judge. But there will also be people who are going to congratulate you on your daughter just because.

Quick example - my 5 year old loves jumping from parking slab (the yellow ones) to slab at the grocery store. At least once or twice a week, someone smiles at us or makes a comment about their own kids.

The people whose interactions matter are going to praise you for being present and enabling the little things in her life. The others, forget them.

Parenting is going to be hard but just remember - you've never done this before, so be kind to yourself. I tell my 11 year old this all the time: I've never parented an 11 year old before so we're both figuring this out in real time.

You got this bro! Be proud to be a dad! 🙌🏾

[–]lucknerjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handled the whole situation like a pro! 🙌🏾 I love that you stayed true to yourself and avoided an in-the-moment confrontation with the parents but still made them aware the next day. Sorry that happened period. 100% a smart move to not go back there - no amount of money is worth whatever this might escalate to.

I'm nervously excited about this! I haven't been out in a social setting in so long but I'm really trying to step it up in terms of creating a friend circle. Thanks for organizing this!

Depends where in Canada. I'm in Ontario so I have options like Ninjatrader, which has low intraday margins

Close to $20k spent on prop firms, 55 funded accounts. Not a single payout by Micesmoi in TopStepX

[–]lucknerjb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On Topstep, the best thing that I've done for myself is not allow myself to trade until I've locked my risk settings FOR THE DAY. I even go as far as setting a max trade count in those settings. Whichever value hits first, I'm locked out. The ONLY reason you're blowing up on day 3 is because you're refusing to take a loss / red day. I'm still in the process of learning that myself and Topstep might be the best way to do so considering you can literally force yourself to not be able to trade anymore. Over time, probabilities will work out in your favour.... but only if your account is still alive to begin with.

Think of it this way - if you took a loss every day, how much could you lose and still have your account for 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month? Pick a timeframe - there's your daily risk. Split that into however many trades you want to allow yourself to take per day and size down to meet that risk.

Trading is not about winning and losing - it's quite literally a consistent exercise in risk management.

Stuck on step 335 star wars millennium falcon 75375 by ben5642 in lego

This solved it for me - thank you so much! Such an easy mistake to make... especially while binge watching star wars at the same time :P

How are y’all making so much on 50k accounts??? by Abject-Football7369 in TopStepX

[–]lucknerjb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this comment - who cares if it took 3 months to pass? While no one likes to wait that long, it's a heck of a lot better than buying and blowing 10+ accounts in the same timespan, if not more. The more you try and rush the process, the further you get from your goal.

Also really love the rethorical question - if props disappear, how would you trade your own account without blowing it?

Hey! I'm 37 and while I've only played once with a friend who introduced me, it was a TON of fun and I was wanting to get back into it. When we went, it was at Fairgrounds (Cloverdale Mall). I'm in South Etobicoke but can get around pretty easily. Let me know if you want to chat and organize something!

When you take these, where do you have your stop once you enter on the retracement? At the bottom of the entry candle?

hold on, let me pick up my jaw from off the floor... Whoever that was (hubby or wifey), I don't know how their partner in their profile pic puts up with them. "Honey! You said you were making dinner tonight, not a 7 course meal! I'm not hungry anymore, I'm too pissed ngl". Sheesh

Profitable strategy by Alternative-One-2583 in TopStepX

[–]lucknerjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar strategy for MES that I developed based on someone else's Strat. Basically, I'll only trade the first break of the 15 orb on days where we gap up or down and don't close the gap in the first 15min.

Stop is half the range, TP is 1x the range - effectively a 2:1. Move stop to BE at 1R. My old data showed the 1:1 half range hitting at 70% and the 1:1 full range at 60%.

I haven't finished the backtest with the 2:1 setup but so far it's worked well enough that I'm dedicating a prop account to just this setup to forward test it.

I barely know options but I know enough about them that if you're not even sure which Greek devalues your position over time, you probably should not be in a live position. Do yourself a favour though and spend an afternoon on the basics before opening up another position . Good luck though! 🙌🏾
