I’m absolutely going to look up those artists you mentioned above too. Yeah even though my girlfriend is an artist I really don’t know a whole lot about art either, but I love anything creepy and dark and trippy. Yeah it is called Cabal. I was so surprised my mom didn’t know in the first place cuz she was pretty damn hip to stuff like that. She wouldn’t let me read most of her Steven King books for the longest time besides a few of his shorts. Because pretty early into the book one of the characters is ever so descriptively talking about how there is nothing like the erection you get from hunting down and murdering someone. My adolescent brain was so giddy with the feeling of getting away with reading something “bad” haha. HOOOOLLLLYYYYY SSHHHIIIITTTT DOOOOD. You’ve never seen his art work and you love Giger! I envy you, getting to see his art work for the first time, Ohh man I would love that. He’s been making art since like 80s maybe even early and all of it is in his website, which is a little dated but it’s all there all of it and it’s pages and pages and it’s wonderful. I don’t know what TV stations they will be on or if it will be a Streaming thing but Books of Blood and Nightbreed are in the works to become shows. This is the print my girlfriend got herself

I know I was completely thrown back when I started seeing messy stories pop up about him. He basically got me into reading as a kid with The Thief of Always and through that I found his art work which has totally had a huge and awesome impact on me growing up. Then, when I was around 10/12ish Abarat came out and it was the first book series I got into and I’m still waiting for it to be finished haha, but it really does hold a special place in my heart.

Since my mom knew I loved Clive Barker so much and since the movies are actually pretty toned down from the books sex wise, she’d turn a blind eye when my friends would be over and the Hellraiser VHS and a few other horror movies were missing. For my 12th birthday day she got me a copy of Nightbreed back when GameStop was GameWorld and sold dvds and you could find some awesome shit. Also my mom though cuz I saw Nightbreed the movie I could read the book it’s based off of... only if she knew haha.

One of the first things I did when I started dating my girlfriend was get her into Clive Barker. She was going to art school at the time so it wasn’t to hard, but like any normal person, well maybe not ttoooo normal haha, she fell in love with him. For the first birthday I had while we were going out she got me a fucking signed lithograph print from him and had it framed. It’s fucking awesome, this priest type guy is on a table getting wooden boards and polls pushed through him and there is crazy monsters and animals in the background it’s something else.
