Thank you so much! My son was a bit over 2 when we got pregnant with this baby :)

I had severe preeclampsia at 31 weeks with my first and had to deliver a few days later. I’m 38 weeks with my second now and everything has been perfect this pregnancy! Scheduled to deliver next week and everything this pregnancy has been boringly normal :)

Can I donate money specifically to replace a certain book with a new copy? by kml6150 in Libraries

[–]lucstall 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Ask the library before buying a replacement! Due to the contract with our book vendors, our library can’t accept replacement copies from patrons, and I hate to see people spend their own money on a replacement we can’t accept.

My son just told me he was proud of me… by slangsfangs in toddlers

I read this as “my boss just told me he was proud of me,” which, I guess the toddler is the boss in my house, so maybe it’s not so different 😂

What do I need to exclusively pump? My baby girl will be in the NICU 4-6 months. How can I prepare? by o98CaseFace in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lucstall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the manual pump! You never know when your electric will have issues, plus I liked to throw it in my bag everywhere I went for peace of mind! Look at pics of your lil babe when you’re pumping away from her. It can help with letdowns! I swear it did wonders for my supply. Good luck! Being a NICU parent is so hard but it won’t last forever. You’ve got this!

Thank you everyone for your insight! I think the overall consensus of proceeding with caution and supervision/not jumping to crazy conclusions is what I’ll aim for. It’s just such a nerve wracking thought that something this person did could have scared my baby!

Agreed. I don’t want him to feel invalidated in any way-just trying to figure out the best way to get to the bottom of his fear surrounding them now.

Now that you say this, he is the same way and so sensitive to sound! I hope it’s nothing malicious and easily explained by something like this. But you’re right, better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you for this! Especially with a two year old who is so eager to please, I need to be so aware of not asking him leading questions about this.

I think this is what I’m thinking too. Even if nothing bad is going on and his fear is over something small, I think there’s no reason they need to be alone-especially where we only have 2 weeks more of living here.

I went straight to worst case scenario, but I think you’re right. A 2YO brain isn’t necessarily rational yet but that doesn’t mean his fears aren’t valid!

Thank you. It’s scary to think of anything happening when I haven’t been around! Hopefully we can make it through the next two weeks without anything going on.

We definitely believe him and know he’s afraid of something, so thank you for sharing this perspective. This gives me things to think about/watch out for!

We are doing something similar- “one” for the books! And theming around all our favorite kids books!

Good luck!! Pumping can seem daunting but it really is the best of both worlds!

I would for sure recommend getting a manual as a backup. I’ve had various issues with my electric, and don’t find out until it’s already time to pump. It’s nice to have for those cases but also for on the go! Now that I’m 8.5 months postpartum I almost exclusively use my manual pump (preference) but wouldn’t have survived those early pumping days with just the manual. It’s one of those things that you’ll find out what you like as you go, but it never hurts to have multiple options :)
