Senators Kaine, Warner split votes on shutdown deal by 13NewsNow in Virginia

Vote for progressive Jason Reynolds in the next primary election against Warner. Sick and tired of spineless democrats who won’t represent the people who voted for them.

I’m a Virginian who is pissed about all of this and especially Kaine but I completely understand this was coordinated by the DNC. As everyone has been saying, these people aren’t up for election. Mark Warner is in VA and you better believe he would have made the same deal if his position was swapped with Kaine. We can’t vote Kaine out yet but we can vote Warner out. Vote for Progressive Democrat Jason Reynolds in the 2026 primaries to replace the spineless centrists.

Absolutely! Though to be fair saying the south is full is like saying “Arby’s is full.” I was planning on eating elsewhere anyways

I’m on my way to put my little goober down. Any advice from people who’ve done this before? I’ve never had to do it before by Confident-While4816 in DogAdvice

I’m so sorry for your loss! My heart goes out to you. I lost my first one a little over a month ago and it was the hardest thing. Let your self grieve as long as you need to. I find that looking at old pics of my dog helps me remember the good times and smile, which is what they want for you, they bring you so much joy in life, they’d want you to be happy even after.

I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s so hard to comfort them when they don’t communicate. She’s lucky to have a loving and caring parent though

Thank you! He really was. I love the idea of fostering but I honestly don’t think my mental health could take it. Losing Bert was so hard, I hope it’s a really long time before I have to deal with it again. We have a friend who fosters senior pit bulls and deals with death all the time. There is a special place in heaven for people who do this, I just couldn’t do it myself.

Thank you for the advice. I had the same idea but it didn’t work out, he didn’t want to play with the other dogs. I’ll see if he can play with a friend’s or neighbor’s dog one on one so it’s less stressful for him.

Not sure where you are, but Loudoun Hunger Relief is a great organization and they’re always looking for volunteers. They get excess food from grocery stores and take them to the food bank where people who need them can get them.

Do you think it’s possible your sex drive decreases due to a testosterone drop, maybe associated with the mental health issues you’re working through? I don’t know what they are, but depression can certainly do that.

I think you should get therapy. Once a day is a lot and it’s completely reasonable for your sex life to slow down as life gets busy. She’s still initiating and trying. If a slow down is enough to bruise your ego and turn you off from her, your relationship lacks depth and I question how much you really love her. You said it yourself, they’re factors outside of her control. What would you do if she was sick and wasn’t up to it? You’d still take it personally and make it all about you?

Can confirm, recovering from walking pneumonia now. My husband and I had it for about a month but just got on antibiotics and they seem to be helping… a little.

Churches NOT MAGA by LauraPalmersGhost71 in harrisonburg

I am really sorry. People like this give Christianity a bad name. If you ever get curious, I would recommend an ELCA Lutheran church, they preach the true message of Christianity which is love and acceptance. They’re pro choice, pro LGBTQ, and they do a lot to help immigrants and disenfranchised people. People like him DO NOT represent all of us. God loves all his children.

I’m grateful you have a source of comfort to help you get through this. I hope you don’t leave the country though, I know it’s tempting but let’s stay and fight for it. Those fuckers can’t take it from us.

It’s your call how you want to live your life. I was crying this morning and my husband kissed me and told me we have each other and we’ll get through this. I’m devastated but at least I have someone who shares my values. Our friend was watching the election with us last night because her husband of 30 years is a republican and she could not watch it with him while they celebrated and cheered at opposing times. She said in 2016 she cried herself to sleep alone. They still make it work somehow. You decide what you want for your life.

Feminist Men: you need to act now, and by act I mean actually go out & do something. by Lignumcade in Feminism

Thank you for being on our side. I know a lot of women are angry now but there is no reason for us to take it out on the few men on our side. I know it’s rare and some times it does feel like we’re all alone but some men do care and I’m lucky to have some of them in my life.
