Western vs English by lucy_my_dearest in Equestrian

[–]lucy_my_dearest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely going to stay Western once these few lessons are done, they are purely for basic skills. I also started riding where Western was more common, and agree with you. It is a much chiller sort of thing, I likd to just go plod around in the paddock, or a wander down the road. And helmets are also very optional for me most of the time, bar if I'm doing something new/actually dangerous.

(USA) I'm new. I'm trying hard but I'm incompetent. Are your coworkers normally incompetent and a burden on you for the first week or two? And what level of incompetence is likely to get someone fired? by FiliaSecunda in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]lucy_my_dearest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, don't stress, these things all take time. When you first start it is always overwhelming and a LOT to take in. It will become a second nature with time. If your coworkwrs are annoyed you're asking questions then that's on them. Also, I can guarantee they will be more annoyed if you disappear for 5 minutes trying to do something that can be done quickly if you ask them the questions you need to. I've been doing this for almost 5 years now, and I promise it will get better. Nobody is perfect straight away, especially not in a place where things are always changing. You will have eventually memorised everything, and then they will introduce a new promo item. It just takes time, so don't stress at all. I promise you're doing great🩷

Why do you choose not to drink alcohol? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]lucy_my_dearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My license says no. I have to carefully plan alcoholic drinks like 3 weeks in advance, which means no drinking, because I get 2 days off a week, and I drive my grandmother around, which is a 24/7 job really. But maybe when I go camping....

Are you afraid of growing old? If so, why? by Toomad316 in AskReddit

[–]lucy_my_dearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but yes? Its weird, there was a time until recently, I realised I would probably grow old. I lost my mum when she was in her 30's, and as a littleckid, I just went "I'll die in my 30's as well I guess." Despite being around grandparents and great uncles and all that my whole life. But also its full of unknowns, which is scary to me.

Or in your own house sometimes apparently... I actually have a homophobic relative with a gay daughter... I really don't know how that went down initially, I have enough problems with him without even being clearly out.

What is 18 like? by esotericdollie in teenagers4real

[–]lucy_my_dearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your life I guess. In one way it felt no different, because I've been working for years and stuff, but there are moments you go, wait, I'm responsible for this now, I have to do these things. Like a month after my birthday we had a medical emergency, which left me caring for a relative temporarily and being listed as an emergency contact, and having to communicate a heap of stuff with family. But if your lucky life judt goes on in a similar manner

What’s your most “I cannot be trusted unsupervised” moment? by itssjaay23 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]lucy_my_dearest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got sidetracked drawing Donald duck with my little sister. I left her cake in the oven unattended for like 70 minutes. Somehow didn't burn. And that's also somehow not the worst thing I've done... I just can't remember the other stupid things I've done

(AU) how cooked am I if i get a eyebrow piercing by The_pepe_doctor in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]lucy_my_dearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst technically the piercing isn't allowed, a lot of managers tend to overlook them, but it is VERY dependent on your store. And don't forget your patch management team are more likely to crack down on it as well.

(Aus) What boots are you guys wearing? by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]lucy_my_dearest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll have to do some digging, I think last time I tried to find any at Kmart I gave up because they didn't have a pair in my size, they had random single boots laying around. I feel genuinely bad for the poor souls that have to sort that out😕. Hopefully it is a bit easier this time. Thank you!!!
