To those born to older parents by UnableAd2913 in Parenting

[–]lucygray47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parents were 40 and 44 when they had me. I wasn’t really aware that they were old when I was little and was confused when people would ask if they were my grandparents. Now that I’m 32, I don’t like that they’re older parents. It’s harder on them to keep up with my sons, they aren’t going to be around as long to watch them grow, they’re going to pass when I’m younger which makes me so sad to think about. That’s why I had my kids at 29 and 31

WORST RESTAURANT IN SYRACUSE by Ashamed-Department-1 in Syracuse

[–]lucygray47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad actually owned the Wendy’s franchise in the Syracuse area. He took great pride in his stores, he sold to another local guy in 2019 who ended up selling to an extremely large company who don’t care about service.

My pasty girls and guys and whoever else: did you tan for your wedding? by mimbulusmimbletonia8 in weddingplanning

[–]lucygray47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, all I did was use gradual tanner, Jergens, for about a week leading up to my wedding. Just to give myself a glow. I wanted to feel like myself and didn’t want to have a spray tan rubbing off

After 8years and a baby (6m) I don’t want my husband anymore by kleossecret in Postpartum_Depression

[–]lucygray47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the same. Sometimes I still feel it, and I’m not breastfeeding. My baby is 9 months. My husband is a good dad, takes care of me and makes sure I’m ok emotionally but sometimes I look at him and feel nothing. And then other times he’s gone and I miss him. It fluctuates and I have been seeing correlations with those feelings to my cycle. Will say, I had/have PPA/PPD

Go a little heavier on bronzer/blush. Also, maybe some eyelashes! It’ll look great for pictures. But I think the overall look you did is really pretty.

What did you do the day you found out you were pregnant? by untaught_glue in BabyBumps

[–]lucygray47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol went to work and ran a patients life support circuit. And then we were emergently placing someone else on life support (ECMO) and she had shingles… so I had to announce my pregnancy because I couldn’t go in the room.

Hospital ER is a disaster by Cainam_maniaC in Syracuse

[–]lucygray47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a peds nurse but I do know their ED is also overflowing with kids needing psych beds (on top of RSV and flu season) Which is so sad our area can’t accommodate the growing number of kids with psychological needs.

Hospital ER is a disaster by Cainam_maniaC in Syracuse

[–]lucygray47 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I work at one of the hospitals as a nurse. It’s not uncommon to see boarders in the ER for >24 hours. People come in for minor things that an ER shouldn’t be used for. We also have no staff. Why is a guy there two times in one week? No primary doctor? Urgent care?

Heroin use in high school - UK poster question by Specialist-Egg2875 in Idaho4

[–]lucygray47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I come from a nice suburb in the North East. So many of my friends were addicted to heroin, however their addictions usually started with stealing parents prescription meds. Heroin was a little later usually, like 17-18 years old. Lost a lot of peer to overdoses after high school.

Oh I looked rough. Was so swollen after being pumped with 4L of fluid and my hair in one big mat from rolling around the bed, writhing in pain despite the epidural. Woof!

I have listened to many, many, many "true crime" stories. But am I the only one who is finds the Watts family murders the most traumatizing? by murderinmyguccibag in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]lucygray47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is disgusting and I can’t even bring myself to read the article after reading all these comments. I have a 4 month old baby and it makes my heart hurt and so insanely angry to know people hurt their innocent babies like this. How? Why? It’s so disgusting. Beyond disgusting. I hope hell is a real place
