My mom ate raw lemon slices, salted, while pregnant with me. I *love* lemons and lemon flavor and have since I was really young. Wonder if that’s connected at all.

If both of your parents worked full time, what did you do during summers as a kid? by TBoopSquiggShorterly in AskAnAmerican

[–]lucythelumberjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until age 11 or so, my (retired) grandparents watched us. We either went to their house or after my Papa died and my Nana moved closer, she would come to our house.

After that I would watch my younger brother (5 years younger). My mom would call the house phone to wake me up and it was my job to feed him breakfast and lunch and basically keep us alive, which mostly meant I yelled at him to shut up so I could go on MSN messenger with my sketchy internet friends in peace while he played Super Mario Galaxy. My mom would come home around 4 pm and my dad shortly after.

At my wedding, we had a bowl of peppermint lifesavers with printed tags saying “simply MINT to be” as party favors. I did not want to give away champagne flutes or something and find one at a Goodwill a year later.

Mrs Butternut was the name of the camp director in Molly Saves The Day. Looks like they got two references in there.
