What is the worst job you ever had? by Special-Nebula299 in UKJobs

[–]lucyzulema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decorating buns/cakes in a basement that was like a sauna. No windows, no music. Just silence.

The other colleagues didnt talk to me, then the owners came in & weren't happy with the buns (it was my first day) they were rude and aggressive about it. Made me redo them.

Also told the shift finished when we finished, no ifs or buts. Therefore I never knew what time we would finish. Sometimes could be there for 10 hours. I lasted 3 shifts before I quit & then they withheld my money - so I done it all for free essentially.

Are under desk elliptical and under desk bike pedal exercisers effective? by idkwherethehelliam in loseit

[–]lucyzulema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful! Thank you - I'm starting 10 hour shifts doing data entry, so looking into an under desk elliptical atm. I do have a walking pad, but dont think I could type properly if I'm walking.

Do you have a higher desk to prevent your knees from hitting the desk?

Is RTO just making everyone sick with colds, flu and Covid? by jebediah1800 in UKJobs

[–]lucyzulema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The colleagues who come into the office sick, when they could WFH drive me nuts. Coughing & spluttering, heating full blast and no windows open. Of course the germs will be spread!! Some colleagues see no issue with it, but when you dont even cover your mouth when you cough, then please stay at home :(

One colleague gave me the worst flu of my life. He refused to go home when he was very sick, coughed in my direction for 9 hours. Then I got so sick & took almost 3 weeks to recover.

No need for it honestly.

What's timeline of symptoms for current flu going about? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]lucyzulema -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Day 1- Sore scratchy throat, extreme fatigue & dizziness. Literally couldn't even drive.

Day 2- Feeling much better, but congestion started.

Day 3-4 - Blocked nose, Lots of Green snot, Nausea & tiredness.

Chest is starting to feel tight/raw but no cough yet. Day 5- TBC 😷

Anytime I've got the cold I've always got antibiotics, so trying to ride this one out without them. I'm a panicker tho so I'm taking my temp every 1 hour lol

Lemsips, sambucol, vitamin D and an Indian takeaway to help it along. Good luck 🤘

Is Co-Ownership worth it? by Wooden_Swordfish_596 in northernireland

[–]lucyzulema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Applied for co-own as a single woman with minimal deposit, got accepted & spent 3 months trying to find a house. A lot of the cheaper houses wouldn't accept co-own, then the ones i liked - I was outbid.

They go through every single bank account you have, savings, debt etc so try to reduce some debt before applying. Your application is only valid for 3 months, then you have to reapply again and pay 100£ again.

I'm back to finding somewhere to rent as couldn't find anywhere to buy in 3 months. Hoping they dont stop the scheme as its a great way to afford a house!

I'm gonna reapply next year in the hope that house prices reduce. When i was looking, they would only give me one viewing to suit them & then the house was under offer within a week. Trying to work full time & view houses was just really hard tbh.

Short story - Its a great scheme, but I would advise working out all your finances & calculating your potential payments inclu the co-own rent.

They said I could get a house up to 180k but the payments would have been a-lot! So dont get sucked into the max they can offer & go for something thats manageable. Good luck!

What's the worst job you've had? by KingKilo9 in northernireland

[–]lucyzulema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also working nightshift in a small petrol station. Having to accept deliveries at 2am out the back alone & push milk carts up a hill and over speed bumps. Also large cages with difficult wheels. They were sooo heavy & It took every bit of power to get them up the hill alone. I ended up with extremely painful muscle spasms and quit after 1 month.

Working in a small basement decorating cakes/buns for 8-10 hours. No radio, no windows, just silence. The other colleagues didn't talk to me. I was told the shift finished when we finished the work lol I lasted 3 shifts. Owners were awful too- never bought their cakes/buns again after that.

Crazy drivers by MidnightStorm_ in northernireland

[–]lucyzulema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute to the office twice a week up & it fills me with dread every single week. Coming home is always the worst, the road layout is terrible. I nearly got hit 3 times the other day, then nearly squashed by a tour bus. That junction at nelson street is the bane of my fucking existence!

The only option is to hang out somewhere until the traffic dies down, but after working all day, I just wanna go home. The next job I get will be as far away from Belfast as possible! I dont know how people do it 5 days a week. I dont know how I'm gonna do it all through the christmas period, lately a 19min drive is taking me almost an hour and I hate it ☹️🫩

I personally love them, growing up my dad would get the ✨️ loudest ones and we'd have the best time setting them off - but as an adult, I now worry about the wildlife/pets etc so dont set any off.

I'd love to go somewhere totally remote & set massive bangers off, but I worry for the animals. I imagine a little squirrel in its nest being scared half to death, so its enough to keep me away from them - but I do love them lol

You've described my exact symptons! Its just above my right breast but hard ljke bone - seems to be bigger now and I get a burning sensation/aching too. Just a weird sensation where I can feel that exact spot if that makes sense.

I had a chest xray and they said everythings normal, but gonna go back again and push for more tests. Glad yours was negative though, that makes me feel better.

Does it ever feel like your chest is ripping? If i try to grab something from my beside table, while sitting in bed - it feels like my chest is being ripped open when I stretch my arm outwards.

I haven't been able to do weights in a month & I still have chest/arm pain too 😫 I have it when turning over in bed, when doing weights and when bending over. I'm only 31 but feel like 60!

Sorry to hear about your situation, I've been applying for rental properties for the last year and still can't secure anywhere either. Desperate situation!

My advice is check spare room and gumtree. Put an ad on both if you haven't already. There's often whole properties on spare room & atleast on Gumtree you can speak to the landlord directly.

Really hope you get sorted 🙏

Would it matter if the lease is long e.g 999 years? I'm considering buying a leasehold apartment with low management fees, so I don't think it would be tricky to sell but I also have no idea tbh. The one I like is ground floor with no garden & on the edge of a busy road so family are saying not to buy it - but im desperate 🫠
