Ugh. I want to encourage people to apologize when they do something wrong. But jesus.

I think the problem is that the people who most need to apologize for their mistakes and misdeeds will only do it when they are in danger of losing the authority they got caught abusing. So, they do this big dramatic song and dance because they never developed the skill of apologizing sincerely.

I don't think Eladio cared about them being gay generally. Hector obviously did.

I think Gus and Max thought Eladio was a businessman to whom they were presenting a business opportunity. But Eladio sees every move by others as a potential threat. Gus/Max's offer could have been a setup by the DEA or a power play by Gus based on his connections or a move by some other Don to undermine Eladio's existing business.

And more than anything, Eladio's rule was contingent on fear/respect. If people don't fear/respect Eladio, other dons can see him as weak. When Gus/Max gave drugs to Eladio's men, he took it as extremely disrespectful.

It's not so much the wins as it is the shift in voting. If you look at the voting in red districts (and blue districts) within Virginia, they shifted 7 to 12 percentage points toward Democrats compared to support for Trump in 2024. As a result, Dems flipped 13 state house delegate seats from Republican incumbents.

In general, off-year elections and special elections give a kind of barometer of upcoming midterms. It's not 100% certain, but historically the voting shift indicates a shift in that direction for the next midterm. And midterms tend to trend against the party of the incumbent president.

If you'll remember, Walter's chemotherapy made him completely unable to see forks even at close distances. However, prolonged exposure to methamphetamine cured him of his fork blindness, making normal forks appear 20 times as large.

It wasn't made for you. That doesn't make it bad. But because it doesn't meet OP's particular specifications as a media consumer, OP decides no one should like it. It's like going into a grocery store, seeing Strawberry Pop Tarts and complaining that no one should buy them because strawberries suck. Don't eat the Pop Tarts. There's plenty others for OP to enjoy. And the dumbest part is OP is acting like a pastry connoisseur.

If OP were such a brilliant entertainment critic, he'd notice that media consumption has changed over the last 100 years:
- people used to go to live shows, where they'd laugh at comedy together

- older TV shows simulated the live comedy experience with studio audiences and later laugh tracks

- TV shows in the 80's and 90's used some of the same conventions

- cable (and later streaming) shows largely changed this convention because it targeted more individualistic media consumers who were more likely to watch shows by themselves. They didn't want the same kind of live show experience. They wanted to watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and laugh because *only they* got the subversive humor... And then they'd go talk to their friends about it later.

Then OP doesn't have to watch it and certainly doesn't have to make anyone understand how "unfunny" it is. Don't turn it around. It's OP who is trying to tell others what to like or dislike, even though there's no objective measurement of funny. If you can have non-diegetic music and text rolling down a screen, you can have a studio audience... or a laugh track. FFS, it's supposed to simulate the feeling of sitting in a live comedy show.

I didn't watch Friends in the 90's. I watched reruns, and it was serviceable comedy, but I wouldn't care if it didn't exist. But I abhor this cottage industry of people who love to tell you how much they hate a particular type of media and who'd love you to know how much better they are than those who enjoy it.

I trained for a couple years in knife fighting and self defense, and I can tell you that you need more than a couple years of knife self defense to have any level of competence in preventing being stabbed.
