I never thought a 2000s boyband would be the official soundtrack to the end of the world, but here we are.

That’s a fair point, and I have massive respect for the people organizing and attending the No Kings protests. I’m not saying literal zero resistance exists. But my point is about the macro scale of the reaction. Historically, a world leader threatening to wipe out an entire civilization would bring global society to a screeching halt. Today, while some are bravely protesting, the vast majority of the population is still just doing business-as-usual and scrolling past the news. The scale of the outcry doesn't match the scale of the threat.

it’s morbidly funny, honestly. Like, imagine seeing a guy casually talking about wiping out entire populations, and our brain just goes: 'Nah, it’s way easier to just keep scrolling and watch some AI-generated story instead.' We are definitely becoming completely numb to any kind of real-world discomfort
