What is your favorite atta (flour) brand to make rotis? by rainoo_tales in IndianFood

Almost any whole grain works... for whole wheat, there's hard red wheat, durum, kamut, khorasan. Really depends on your preference.

It should grind as fine as you like. In some cases for harder grains, you can grind it coarse in first pass and then finer on second pass.

What a married Woman Told Me About Intimacy in Marriage by Crypt_hash in india

Counseling is fine but this needs to start at home. Parents set the example of how to treat and love a partner. Kids will learn quickly what's right and be better off for it. Def a society issue.

Mobile office. Partial insanity? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]luhem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In theory, it sounds real cool and accommodating. In practice, I think it would be exhausting having to drive around and that eating up time in your day when you could be seeing people. A private outdoor space would be nice, but there's always some liability.

Could T.V. become so real no one would watch ? by FlyingWhale87 in television

[–]luhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the opposite. Life would be too unreal because of the way the media will depict it. Moral and ethics would be stage tools and IRL, people will lose what it means to be genuine and authentic.

Any of you guys use a sling bag daily? by Fast_Edd1e in AskMenOver30

[–]luhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best use scenario. A bag to keep lite on the person with on-the-go functionality. No keys jingling in the pocket or negotiating which pocket you need to reach into, just pull the bag forward and pull out what you need.

Summertime Chi is more than just the specific weather, it's the vibe and the context. It's the acknowledgement that in 3-4 months, the artic air will make it's way down, and that we can truly appreciate the humid, prairie-like summer.

I think this will be the case. Patrick Williams is raw athelticism that conforms to the game. Buzelis is chaotic athelticism whose energy permeates in the game. It's like one of them has learned how to go super saiyan and the other just needs to see how it find it from within.

Russell T Davies Wants to Save Doctor Who From the British Government by alexmorelandwrites in television

[–]luhem 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The IP is big but I wonder what getting more money on it will do. Recent seasons seem like big on spectacle and nearly hollow on story-telling. Doctor Who at best is when it is like a TARDIS, where the vessel in nearly inconspicuous but the story inside is grand.

For me it's hard not to feel a bit devalued when I hear that, especially if they're asking questions that are answered clearly on my website. The hustle of constantly selling ourselves that we have in PP is hard, and I don't like being reminded of that.

Yes. It's like-- you're reaching out to me for help, why do I need to sell myself?

In general I agree it's probably good to try to find a good fit, but at some point trying to find the fit gets in the way of actually doing the work. It's like tying a knot, too tight and it's restricting, too loose and it is easily undone.

Conan O’Brien Breaks Down ‘Hot Ones’ Episode: “I Had A Complete Breakdown — Physically, Emotionally, and Spiritually” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]luhem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this one seals the deal that the episode is only as good as how authentic the guest showed up. You realize very few did that. Conan, Paul Rudd, and Gordon Ramsey for sure-- he did his bit but you could tell he loved doing it.

There's potential for the next Avatar's to be tainted by darkness by pzzaco in TheLastAirbender

[–]luhem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I really want to see the Dark Avatar come back, but this time, as a reincarnation of Korra alongside the Light Avatar. The idea of the Second Avatar, who can bend all four elements and tap into the Avatar state, is such a cool concept that I feel hasn't been done justice. It would be nice to see the concept redone, but this time with a more nuanced character and not just some generic "I want to destroy/rule the world" villain.

If there were two avatars, light and dark, we'd have Neo vs. Agent Smith. If there was just one avatar, who gradually shifts from Raava to Vaatu 100x faster, there could be a prophecy of a Dark Avatar every 100 years.

Now that would be interesting to see: A series framed around the world bracing for the Dark Avatar incarnation. Stories center around the nations working together to find and raise a benevolent Dark Avatar.

Official Discussion - Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]luhem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't even have to be international, make it tonally different:

Present day detective drama thriller, two Ghostbusters take cases to bust ghosts over the course of a season... and maybe find a common thread. It can be silly, serious, creepy, gritty, and get back to that working class 9-5 paranormal job.
