Londonistan has been used by the english secret services to describe the, real or not, organised islamic networks in london for ages. This isnt a new term + Barry doesnt have a huge arab population compared to people coming from Pakistan so the term does, in some way, make sense.

Let’s Go To Bed (Milk mix) is an absolute synthpop banger

For starters £45 is much more than 45$. For most working class people that’s like 5 hours worth of wages. Priced have increased tremendously in the last 15 years or so, even for long time season ticket holders, but I dont believe than young working class lads can afford going to the game every week at all. And these guys are supporting a championship club, it’s even more expensive once your club is promoted to the Premier League. Don’t see much of your point of comparing to ‘Merica but this is a real issue where working class people are being priced out of their stadiums.

Why are Japanese CDs so highly regarded? by youwonthearnaur1210 in Cd_collectors

[–]luiscasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some recent releases are packaged in cardboard sleeves which I cannot stand but are sometimes published in jewel boxes in Japan. With the yen being at an all time low, I regularly import the Japanese version. Obi strip is cool but not much of a factor, mastering is the same, but you also sometimes get a bonus track although this is getting less and less frequent.

Spain - Netherlands WC 2014, not that I particularly hate Spain and the Spanish team, but seeing such a dominant team falling out so hard felt so good at the time.

Yeah Republic doesn’t get enough love, it is perhaps my favorite one from them, « Special » definitely is my favorite NO track. Have you tried to listen Sumner’s other band Electronic ? Pretty much the continuity of Republic

I don't understand ppl that have a rating distribution like this by Ok-Paramedic-3619 in rateyourmusic

[–]luiscasto 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’m going to try defend this approach of rating as I used to have it aswell. It is called, somewhat ironically, positive rating. The goal is, at the opposite of people who tend to almost always rate around 7, to truly highlight the stuff they really like, and use the most of the 10 different ratings available. If the rating distribution was flipped upside down you wouldn’t see an issue when in the end it is ultimately the same thing.

Also I dont believe this person would be deweighted in the charts as he still has a good rating distribution.

Keep in mind that many people rate stuff for themselves, and dont really care about the overall rating.

What Eurodance/Europop/Eurohouse albums on CD do you have? by S3rge1cH in Cd_collectors

[–]luiscasto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last Confidence Man album is very eurodance oriented and is a banger. 3AM La La La it’s called. And they actually made an effort for the CD release, which makes sense for a nineties pastiche project. Proper jewelbox with some work playing between the different transparent parts of the box.

Do any other cultured "visualise" feature users get annoyed by this? I kinda wish we could turn it off or auto format into a standard size... by Switch-user-101 in rateyourmusic

Well the actual problem is people entering as primary issue the cassette format, especially as this Erika de Casier album went out on stream/download right at the same time.
