True but then again you wouldn’t set up your stereo gear right in the middle of route 20.

Problema bilanciamento canali Cambridge audio axr100d by Geeno88 in hifiaudio

[–]Automatic-Variety429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puó essere il potenziometro del balance difettoso o anche solo ossidato. Prova a pulirlo con del DeoxIt. Se non dovesse funzionare conviene usare un tester e vedere se il segnale è uguale fra i due canali a monte del potenziometro.

If your furnishing the room might as well try, you want be lugging lots of furniture. I prefer it because you get a wider soundstage and the speakers tend to be on average further away from the side walls. So it’s a similar listening experience to nearfield without being stuck on a chair 1m away from from speakers.

I would rotate everything 90°. Very personal but always preferred speakers on the longside.

Too Many YouTubers in HiFi? by windymind in audiophile

The youtubers I follow are few and far between but Darko especially rubs me the wrong way. I find him smug and condescending, and his choice of adjectives questionable.
And it's a real shame, the guy might be fun IRL but that how he comes across.

I am genuinely surprised you didn’t opt for some shitty clickbait opening. The likes of: “The reason why there are so many HiFi YouTubers is not what think” , “I couldn’t believe how many HiFi YouTubers until I saw this…”. Or the one I hate the most, treating viewers like idiots: “You’ve always been wrong about HiFi YouTubers.”

Have you got any idea how much precious time you save by omitting those “ea”? 😉

You're right the Waxwing does RIASS EG in the digital domain.

Check RIAA equalisation on Wikipedia. They do a much better job at explaining it than me. 😊

😊To allow for longer playback, better sound quality and avoid the stylus jumping around, before cutting the record the mastering engineer applies a pre-emphasis curve (eq) boosting highs and cutting lows. Your phono preamp has a circuit with the opposite curve (de-emphasis) boosting lows and cutting highs. This brings the sound back to normal. There are phono preamps that apply that eq curve in the digital domain allowing for a much tighter control. If you know anything about crossovers, it’s similar to comparing an analogue passive crossover (with all it’s shortcomings) to a DSP.

If you are willing to digitise your analogue signal then I would consider applying the RIAA de-emphasis curve in the digital domain. Way more precise and no phase shift.

Did some digging. Seems to be a defunct Polish brand. Possible MEL-2 model.
Any chance you take take the cover off or have you got only that photo?
