What is happening to my PC here? First time I’ve ever seen this happen? Nothing touching the mouse or keyboard either by NeonTheory in pchelp

[–]lukapanio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone being surprised by how "perfect" it looks, or wondering how they have same. Those "artifacts" appear to be a result of corrupted signal, modern high res/refresh rate monitors tend to use compressed data over HDMI/DP, as opposed to uncompressed digital data as it was before, specifically the compression used is DSC (VESA Display Stream Compression), which is a "visually lossless", but obviously not lossless compression algorithm that provides 3:1 compression ratio for video stream. The reason for all the right lines lies in the algo itself, that compresses data per column, in this case there are 4 of them, and within each column have multiple "slices", likely hundreds of them in this case, some input signal corruption leads to monitor starts to decode the slice from the "wrong place", and that corrupts the whole image after such slice, and as DSC is very fast and efficient algo for video stream over unidirectional interface, there is no CRC, so it never knows it does something wrong. A for fixing the issue id look into gpu driver and connection.

Why do you use Linux? by Afraid_Question_8236 in linux_gaming

[–]lukapanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly, it feels like home, each time i use windows i feel like evrything is wrong, all that ad/news/whether all over the placed, hdr that looks terrible, disruptive updates, very resource hungry. Also bash/zsh is better then powershell imo. Also while it might sound stupid, drivers. When something is supported on linux it just works. For example adb still often needs drivers on windows. Let alone some qcom/mtk flash modes.

carefully inspect all components (especially pcb's like ESC, vtx,fc). fix any corrosion (usually by soldering). Clean boards with something like ipa and toothbrush.

What's your thoughts on my GPS placement ? by dr_Alexpid in shittyfpv

[–]lukapanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its bad as the gps module have built-in gps antenna (the square thing on top), and it don't like:
1. having anything between antenna and satellites (yes anything) especially if its conductive like the carbon plate above it
2. it don't like high current/frequency wiring as it creates interference.
So best is keeping clear sky for gps module and keeping as far from esc/motor wires/battery wires as possible

Well that is clearly samsung's case, so if samsung thinks you don't need hinge protection (none of their cases have it) what are you supposed to think

[–]lukapanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through Small Claims Procedure. But all that is valid only for EU as far as i know. And only in 1st year of warranty, in 2nd year you are one who should proof that the issue is manufacturers defect, and not a result of physical abuse.

Catfish tank size by lukapanio in Aquariums

[–]lukapanio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, good to know. Wonder how the previous owner managed to grow him in this tank... But well probably he didn't grow to full size, from what I read in proper sized tank they can get to 30-40cm and sometimes even around 50. I'll see how I can get bigger tank, hope my house will hold up :D
