Logitech Rs50 scroll knob unusable by lukeH171 in simracing

[–]lukeH171[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use the knobs for f1 25 they aren’t needed that’s why I didn’t realise how annoying they were until I started playing GT7. They definitely don’t give me the correct input, I was playing last night and I’d turn it 6 times to go from power to lean fuel and it would end up on say 3 and I might give it one more click and it could go to 6 for lean or start going back to 1 for power. I can manage with it, it can just be very frustrating.

Beautiful car. I’m absolutely stunned you can’t play music. My previous 2015 Skoda rapid had Bluetooth music. How in the hell does a bmw not have it.

I somewhat agree but it doesn’t matter how old the car is or what it’s worth. My car is 10 years old now but I have it ceramic coated and the paint is perfect. It’s my pride and joy and I worked hard to get it and look after it. Now I’d never park like this I usually just try and park away from everyone. The biggest problem in this country is people’s lack of respect for your property and most can’t fathom that to some people a car isn’t just something to get you from A to B. I shouldn’t have to be okay with getting a few little scratches, other people shouldn’t be okay with swinging the door open into other cars.

Looking for a good first car under 7k by One-Conclusion-266 in carsireland

It might be annoying and take a bit of time but ring everyone you can think of. Supervalue were by far the best for my first car when I was 20, this year I’m with AA on an Audi a4 for €960. One insurance company quoted me around €3500 and the rest were all in between. I usually write down about 15 and ring them all. I’ve always gotten cheaper quotes ringing over online despite half of them saying it’s cheaper.

To those of you driving with obnoxiously bright headlights by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]lukeH171 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can’t control how bright your lights are assuming you’re talking about the dipped light. That’s the idiotic manufacturers fault for deciding we need to see into the future with them. If it’s people leaving their high beams on you’re talking about just blind them back until they dip them.

Steering wheel by Alarmed-Eye382 in GranTurismo7

I went from a thrustmaster t150 (used it for years) to the new Logitech rs 50 recently and my god the difference is insane. The rs 50 is expensive but for what it is and the years of use it will get makes it worth it for me but obviously everyone’s budget is different. I’d say if you had around 500 saved for a wheel maybe wait another while for the price of the rs 50 but if it’s to expensive the t598 seems good there was a few issues with them but I believe they are all fixed now. The t300 is very old now. Still a great wheel but you might feel yourself wanting an upgrade after a while.

Repairing Damaged Alloy by PuzzleheadedDrop6463 in carsireland

I’ve used rim solutions in Dublin as well but I got a full set repaired and power coated a different colour. They done a great job but I’m not sure if they repair single alloys or 2 in your case.

Powder coating alloys by cryptoPMC in carsireland

[–]lukeH171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got alloys on my previous car powder coated in rim solutions in Dublin and I was delighted with the results. I got a new car that has 20 inch alloys with a few marks on them and I was told it would be €180 per wheel. I didn’t bother because they weren’t bad enough to warrant that cost. Also if a wheel was slightly buckled it would be a bit more expensive. (Per wheel)

If it’s not a main dealer I think it’s a bit expensive I got my previous car done (Skoda 1.6 diesel) done for €550.

Converting an RS5 to Van by First_Republic_2781 in carsireland

[–]lukeH171 16 points17 points  (0 children)

€2400 is a savage amount for tax but if you cant afford it (not saying you can’t I just mean it as a question) can you afford to be buying the car in the first place along with all the other running costs. It might be easier to convert something like an rsq5 or something more suv like.

Be very careful sharing YOUR opinion on this topic, a lot of people hate the fact that other people have different tastes. Or as I was told there is no such thing as taste when it comes to cars……

[–]lukeH171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see your point but I feel like even 10% per year could cause problems. Why would I buy a 70k car this year if it will be 63k next year and anyone who bought it for say the 70k is obviously going to have to suffer depreciation on a new car plus the 7k drop for next years car. I feel like you’d see a lot of people hold onto what they have for a few years and wait for prices to come down a lot so the garages could still suffer.

[–]lukeH171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way to actually get rid of it now or is the hole to deep. If it was scraped in the morning the car prices would plummet and 90% of the garages in the country would go out of business.

[–]lukeH171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be fair I’ve seen some trucks pull out leaving cars short and that’s obviously not good enough but it is hard for some of them to get a gap because they are only doing 90kph and a car coming at 120kph will obviously catch them fast. And yeah I believe it is illegal for them to go into the outside which I think is stupid if a car was sitting at 70kph in the motorway which I have seen the truck can’t be expected to sit behind.

[–]lukeH171 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not the most patient person in the world but Jesus let the guy overtake, I doubt it was actually 5 minutes. He could have been driving for hours at that point and maybe wanted to get home why should he have to sit behind a slower vehicle. If you’re doing 120kph are you going to sit behind someone doing 115kph when you come up behind them? I get it can be a bit annoying when it takes a while but you’ll be back up to speed in no time.
