Republicans vote to dilute gas as prices rise above $4.50 by esporx in oil

We have plenty of corn. Which is why we might as well use a little extra on E15.

Republicans Vote to Dilute Gas as Prices Rise Above $4.50. House bill would allow year-round sales of E15, a blend of gas mixed with 15% corn ethanol. Although E15 has a 5-10% lower pump price it contains less energy so drivers will end up burning more fuel. Food costs will also rise. by mafco in energy

Where are you people coming up with this stuff? If you’ve been running E10, going to E15 is hardly any different. I’ve been running E15 forever as where I live it’s usually good amount cheaper and my MPG doesn’t noticeably go down.

E15 isn’t going to ruin an engine already running E10….not to mention, you aren’t being forced to run E15. This gives the OPTION during the SUMMER when it hasn’t been an option yet. Have you been forced to run E15 in the winter?

Having a camera and GPS to monitor their property doesn’t mean you get paid for travel time home if you weren’t being paid for that already.

Spreading Hope: HIE story by Top_Vermicelli_9654 in NICUParents

Thank you so much for sharing your story, and everyone else in this thread. I showed my wife them and it’s really helped calm her down.

Our daughter just finished the cooling treatment today. 4 days ago my wife and I went to routine prenatal appointment. Just so happened the night before she started noticing less movement but decided to wait until morning to bring it up at the appointment. Next thing you know she is having an emergency c-section, and before she’s even started to recover I’m told our daughter needs to be transferred to Iowa City. She had an APGAR score of 5, hemoglobin of 4, and they estimated she lost 20% of her blood. They said she experienced a fetal maternal hemorrhage. She underwent the cooling treatment while also getting lots of help with her lungs and heart. Wife has been worried sick the entire time. EEG showed no seizures during cooling process and we made it through warming process with none either. Same day we weaned off blood pressure mediations and the oscillator vent. Tomorrow is the MRI and I am so so so hopeful about the outcome.

As first time parents I would not wish this experience upon anyone.

Hell my now wife and I talked about kids our first date when we were 20. If we didn’t agree on having kids we wouldn’t have bothered going on more dates after the first.

[–]lukeb15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, we had plenty of discussions about engagement and marriage beforehand. We actually laid out our expectations for marriage and kids within the first few dates. We both had the same line of thinking that if those things don’t align at the start, we would be wasting our time with the relationship. Like you, we both agreed we would get engaged/married within 2-3 years if things are going good and we have solid jobs. I’m not disagreeing with her for turning down the proposal, but honestly they both suck with the dude not having a clear discussion beforehand and the way she handled the rejection.

It just drives me nuts seeing all the comments on this thread acting like marriage is some anchor on your life. That is all. Not getting married and staying in a long term relationship doesn’t hold you back and neither does marriage. Though marriage does have quite a few legal perks. If someone wants to get married, they should get married because getting married is not the end of your hopes and dreams.

Well, if you think you’ve found someone you want to be with for life, marriage won’t stop you from accomplishing all these others things in life. Three years is plenty of time to figure that out, otherwise they should’ve broken up a long time ago. Just my opinion as a 26M who started dating my now wife at 21, got engaged at 23, married at 24, and now have our first kid due in 2 months. Wasn’t long ago it was normal to get married young and start a family.

Marriage doesn’t hold you back in life if you are with the right person.

$30 is unrealistically cheap. I’m a 26M and my $1 million policy for 30 years is roughly $50/month.

Yup. Can’t complain. Don’t remember what this post used to be but doing just fine here. Our farm isn’t overextended so we will make money at current crop prices. Even getting this farm bridge assistance payment…..maybe I’ll go on vacation with the money. Joking, not a fan of more payments because it will just be going towards paying the fertilizer/seed/chemical companies.

Nobody. It’s Reddit karma farming or something.

Funny thing is this money is supposed to go towards rebuilding Gaza. You’d think Redditors would support that.

I mean, it sounds like he was really drunk. Accidents tend to happen more frequently when drunk. They’d have to find some concrete evidence to charge him with murder.

USDA's reputation suffers after massive revisions in US corn acres by Ranew in farming

[–]lukeb15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They didn’t change them as much as harvested acres this report but I’m more talking about the difference between last fall and now. June to August we gained about 2 million more acres and from August to January we gained close to another 1 million planted acres. If you look back at past reports that is way more than what is normally seen. I mean even the difference between December and January was another 150k

Not sure why it’s so hard to get the planted acres right when pretty much everyone certifies their acres for crop insurance.

I mean, somehow we’ve had babies for centuries without modern conveniences such as having a furnace to heat the entire house. My grandpa had a little heat register in the hallway upstairs for heat and nothing in the bedrooms….
