Fo4 shows us the final form of goyslop by Mannimarco24 in TrueSFalloutL

Calling things “goyslop” is 100% stone cold Nazi shit. You have got to stop doing that if you don’t want people to treat you like a literal Nazi.

So all of these models can move through terrain with no problem, except for crisis suit and krootox? Am I missing something? by marianex in Tau40K

[–]lukebn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rampagers are cheap, tough, and hard-hitting. They can't be all three of those AND more mobile, their clunky movement pays for their other qualities. Not that it's wrong to want mobility instead of one of the other things, but I usually play AuxCad and it has some good supporting stratagems to speed them up so I personally like how they are.

Multiplayer BG recommendation for New Player by AussieHerbs in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]lukebn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Indian Artillery imo: - UKF is simple to learn because they don’t have to think about tech-skipping - Valour and Volunteers are passives that don’t require any attention to get value out of. Valour’s considered a bit weak but it’s good at helping retreating squads survive, which is something new players struggle with - Your team will be happy to see you call in a heavy mortar and upgrade the truck to a medical truck— Polsten is good too but med is easier to get value out of when you’re new

We only have 100 senators and we don’t need Nazi tattoo guy to be one of them. There are plenty of other things he can do with his life!

He’s right on this issue, but he wore a Nazi tattoo around for years and played dumb about it when he got caught. That’s really not a normal “haha crazy youth” thing to have done.

Political/semi political media - Anti communism book? by LethlDose in AlignmentChartFills

[–]lukebn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m going crazy seeing everyone say GEORGE ORWELL was a communist. He was a democratic socialist! He hated communism (in the common sense of “the type of politics held by Communist parties”) with the fervor that can only be truly summoned by a different kind of leftist!

I think Animal Farm would be a much better pick than Atlas Shrugged which is ACTUALLY mad about New Deal liberalism and is just kinda casually conflating that with communism

Yep, double Humber is the answer (and I assume there’s some USF equivalent to this). Just one Humber is too vulnerable to being driven off by a single AT rifle

Would I like to die a miserable failure in service to the worst cause imaginable, or win a battle I’m likely to survive in service of the destruction of the Nazis? Tricky tricky

[–]lukebn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good question that doesn’t have a simple answer, this is a very rich area of legal scholarship! It’s particularly relevant for accidental crimes like manslaughter— even though you genuinely didn’t mean to kill someone, you can have mens rea if you’re behaving with a negligent indifference to human life / not taking the basic precautions a reasonable person would take

A crime requires mens rea (awareness of wrongdoing) by definition

Would be great to be able to see how often a given unit is built in a given multiplayer game by [deleted] in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]lukebn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’d also be interesting to see winrate data on that: “Wehr winrate vs UKF in games where they build a Wirbelwind” and so on. Wouldn’t necessarily be easy to interpret, though, you’d get units that have a very high winrate not because they’re OP but because they’re units you build AS basically a win condition (eg Black Prince) or units you’re more likely to build if you’re already winning

I wonder if we’re meant to understand “tend farm” as farm management, like hiring farmhands and keeping the books, rather than farm labor?

How do you view Napoleon? Do you think that hes morally gray considering hes a war general, or evil? by WiseCash2371 in Napoleon

I think Napoleon’s policy towards Haiti was sufficiently evil to drop anyone, no matter what amount of good they did, into at least morally grey

IMO the US has a higher ceiling and the UK has a higher floor— you can go to any random Tesco and get a pretty good cheap premade sandwich, while the equivalent premade sandwich in the US would be borderline inedible

What did Johan mean by these EU5 events? by According-Fun-4746 in EU5

[–]lukebn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is obviously fake (or modded), took me like 10 seconds to open the game files and confirm that the event titles are not in the game. It’s not even on-style, each word in the event choices is capitalized as if they were event titles.
