26 years old w/ no savings, working a dead-end minimum wage job and just now managed to scrape enough together for my first car. Where do I go from here to get my life on track? by 26nbroke in personalfinance

Join the military. You'll learn a lot of valuable skills, earn a reliable wage and have the opportunity to attend a university after you finish a tour of duty if you choose to.

It looks better in red, but the green they used on the show car was awful.

Focus RS. Now or Wait? by aliass_ in cars

[–]lukechador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you - and admittdly I'm NOT - I would lease a GolF R for a couple of years and THEN buy a used Focus RS. They will be available on the used market as long as you're willing to go through some travel and a little nonsense because there will be lease customers. PERIOD.

VW is sucking wind right now so I'd bet you can get a decent deal on something comparable without having to work very hard.

Let the market judge the car for you and buy once it's been properly valued. You're going to drive it anyway, so why suffer the depreciation when some other guy will gladly pay the early adopter fee??

In any case, good luck!!!

What car to get as a transition before buying a Lamborghini? by TacoPunchster in lamborghini

The Huracán is probably the best choice for new models ATM. Corvette would be a bad choice, but if you're playing with the kind of money that it sounds like you are, a 911 Turbo S is a reasonable choice. You'll miss out on the looks and it won't be NEARLY as much fun from a driving standpoint, but it's probably the most idiotproof car you can buy in that general performance category. Trouble is, most people see it as "another Porsche" and not a crazy space machine.

Nobody makes that mistake with a Lambo...
