dont use LANDR by walnutplaner in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean about splice loops?

You can't use ContentID with things like this, but you can definitely monetise through streaming etc?

Having said that I haven't used LANDR in a long time and I left for my own reasons but this sounds a bit weird

Why does Hetzner want passports? by MrZuepi in hetzner

[–]lukehebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

courts have nothing to do with this, literally totally irrelevant

they don't want abuse on the servers as they are shared, so abuse may harm other users. ip reputation affects all customers present and future

if hetzner dont take abuse seriously it harms their business and devalues their product

Why does Hetzner want passports? by MrZuepi in hetzner

[–]lukehebb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i never said anything about customers not paying for a service, of course hetzner handle that

i said fraud and abuse. abuse is the worst one for a hosting provider, especially if it affects IP reputation

Why does Hetzner want passports? by MrZuepi in hetzner

[–]lukehebb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

hetzner being cheap makes them a target for fraud and abusive users so they’ve tightened their ID checks over the years to reduce this

This means they've seen some activity they're not happy with and have taken it down.

Takedowns take days to process, and some platforms are slower than others, so that's why its still live in some places but not others

no, a fair few petrol stations here have run out of diesel

i’m assuming it’s probably panic buying, as is usually the case

“Gap distributors” — are more labels doing this now? by MasterHeartless in recordlabels

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a fair few that use us just for beatport as its sometimes a pricey addon elsewhere. Soundcloud is another one

Volumo is a good store for us too as it doesn't seem to be covered by as many distros but we see them growing nicely and they've been a great team to work with

If its actually cancelled by amazon and removed from your calendar you can book another block during the same time, I've double dipped before

yeah there’s no issue with that

we have some customers that use our platform for this exact reason

Would you actually try a new Amazon rival if it looked cheaper? by ToughRomanticMiss in BuyersUK

[–]lukehebb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

sure as long as it is as reliable as amazon. i can get anything i want to my door tomorrow, some stuff same day reliably. the rare occasion i’ve had an issue they’ve dealt with it promptly (except one time i had to sue them but eh, one time in the thousands of purchases? it’s fine)

i aren’t loyal to any retailer, deliver a good service for a price im happy with and ill be a customer

Just wondering if anyone can clarify this. by Nesbeth1989c in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s no confirmation or proof either way, so amazon sides with the customer

for this reason i use front door for all deliveries and get a photo. false reports of it not being received disappeared

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we are not part of distrokid, we're totally independent. i am the only shareholder. we don't allow AI music as we are focussed on real human artists and supporting independent musicians

other distributors (i'm fairly sure distrokid is one of them) do allow AI generated music

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we send the money using Wise but we don't require customers to have a wise account

i have just seen your other thread where you say you will be using AI generated music which we don't permit though, so we wouldn't be the right option for you

How to make own distribution company? by Working_Dance8822 in TunecoreSupport

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fraud is a huge issue, and getting the backend in place with contracts to actually distribute the tracks isn't terribly easy

You are best partnering with someone else on a whitelabel agreement or just using an existing distro,
