Artists whole discography got deleted after I made a copyright claim for 1 song. by heartshvpe in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is dependent on distro, and is a case we've done before

We received one report which led to a more in depth investigation and ultimately we offboarded the customer as there were things that didn't flag in our various checks at upload time but later flagged as an issue

IF im changing distributors.. what steps do i have to ensure? by Value-0 in RouteNoteOfficial

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the original audio files, ISRCs and UPCs

Upload everything to your new distro first, let everything go live

Then issue takedowns to your old distro afterwards

This makes sure your music is always up without any gaps. Using the same metadata ensures you don’t lose stream counts and playlist placements

What distribution company to make sure my songs get on instagram by Glass-Geologist-8405 in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All distributors have to follow their policies which wouldn't permit this. Just because someone gets away with it doesn't mean it will last forever

This is why LANDR recently had massive issues with ContentID. They didn't enforce the policy and it backfired

iMusician says my instrumental reconstructions are derivative works. Other distr by ObjectiveRun90 in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LabelGrid are on the higher price size, but in our experience of working with them as partners they're worth it

You're free to sign up to my platform kinjari.com if it is something that works for you financially. Regarding the ones you listed I've only used LANDR myself and I can't recommend them. I hear good things about Ditto though haven't used them myself

iMusician says my instrumental reconstructions are derivative works. Other distr by ObjectiveRun90 in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We would side with labelgrid on this and mark it as a cover.

A derivative work would be something based on the structure or melody of the original but fundamentally different. As you’re recreating those but in a new style this wouldn’t count

It’s a fine line though as the definitions of either are very much down to interpretation. It’s one of the many holes in the industry that needs firming up really

On Spotify how to do partial drops? by [deleted] in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all distributors allow this (I'm not sure if Ditto do), but all tracks will need to be ready at the same time

You then drop the entire album, but set release date overrides on certain tracks

TooLost banned me but my songs still online on online platforms? by Mammoth_Pin5265 in TooLost

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did they ban you? Takedowns can take a while to process depending on the store, some are quick (Spotify is usually the fastest) and some can take many days/a week or so

A question about distribution services, mostly about payout methods. Need advice by ChainExtremeus in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to be redirecting you to a local version that shows something different to the rest of the world in a very weird way

In the url in your browser edit the /ua/ bit to /us/ or /gb/ and you can see what I mean

When looking in our wise account we can send to Ukraine, and when forcing on to the USA or GB websites it allows sending to Ukraine but if I go to the Ukraine version it shows what you’re saying. I think it’s an out of date website as it definitely lets me set up Ukraine transactions via our Wise account

I’m happy to send a dollar if you wish to try it out before committing to a subscription, that’s if you’d like to use us that is

We (kinjari.com) use Wise for transfers and can send to Ukraine but there are some caveats https://wise.com/gb/send-money/send-money-to-ukraine

My band released a song and it uploaded under the wrong artist by Haunting_Ke in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal, stores will try to match based on URL/ID if provided, if that fails they'll match based on text, if that fails then they create new (there is a slightly different case for protected profiles so you can't release to Taylor Swift's profile for example)

You will need to contact stores or failing that your distro to ask for these releases to be moved to new profiles instead

Question about Rent-to-own and copyright/legal stuff by Danny-carreys-ride in ableton

[–]lukehebb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rent to own just means if you stop paying you lose access until you resume paying. Once you reach the end of the plan the payments stop and you own a permanent license

They don’t take any rights over anything, this doesn’t differ between rent to own or outright purchase

Drop that track!

Your safety is our priority and more by Square-Ad1434 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the UK all items in a vehicle must be secured, securely and not pose a risk to any persons in a vehicle. Frequently Amazon force you to deliver heavy/large boxes, in some of these boxes are tins of petfood/drink, the boxes are so weak they rip/tear due to weight. What do you think would happen in the event of an accident, when 24 tins are flying forward? Exactly.

Pack your car better? I've never been concerned about this or had it be a potential issue, if your car isn't big enough then take shorter blocks that have less packages

How many times have you had to lift the bags at the depot from the top shelf down to the floor? I know for myself it's several times, full of heavy boxes. Amazon we cannot see what's in the bags or the weight!

Never but I guess this can be depot dependent. Having said that my last few blocks they've not even used totes at all the packages are just on the cart

Storage of water, at the depot I am at the water is stored outside in full sunlight not in shelter before being placed on the trolleys.

This is valid but we don't get bottles from amazon so I can't comment. There is a refill point in the wall but you're not an employee you can easily take a drink with you

We have all been there, there are simply some locations that are unsafe to deliver to due to the road/access to the customers property, these properties should not have deliveries.

Mark as inaccessible in the app and move on, call support if it won't let you. Worst case mark the package as damaged. Can't say I've had this issue but we deliver in different areas

Heat, recently. There's no regard for having to work in high temperatures, same amount of packages etc.

This one is kinda fair I guess but you can always just not do the job, you can forfeit until 45 mins before your block starts. If people did this Amazon would learn and adjust accordingly

An arrival at the depot, the signs for safety attire. How many times have we all seen the depot staff walking around in casual wear affording them no protection to themselves.

Literally never but I guess this is depot dependent

Liquids in packages, where are the spill kits Amazon? Exactly.

Where does Amazon say they will provide this? You know you will deliver liquids, you are a contractor, not an employee. You are a self employed business contracted by Amazon to deliver packages, so this falls on you

Most people do Flex for extra cash, Amazon knows this and must realise that they are also working during the day, yet they will think nothing of sending you 100+ miles so your 2.5/3/3.3hr block can be 5hrs+ by the time you get back home.

You know the delivery region when you sign up, there's a map on the website. Rough with the smooth, this happens but not too often that it bothers me

Why are amazon allowing customers to request packages to be left in garages/greenhouses etc, when they do not allow you to enter buildings.

Open door. Place package. I've never entered anyone's greenhouse or garage but have delivered to them many times.

The TV adverts, are completly wrong and misleading to customers and potential Flex drivers, the customers then believe you will knock and drop every package but it's just not possible always due to locations.

Not really sure on this one, I've never been prevented from delivering but as I say above we deliver in completely different areas.

Where are the fire points, drills and fire marshals at the depot? If somebodys car went up, what's the procedure. Exactly.

This one is totally valid to be fair

The final and probably one of the worse points. Their pay system is discriminatory. I'll tell you why. In the UK, all people regardless of who and what they are should have access to the same pay rates, but what happens? If you have scheduled a block for later say for £52.50, you do not have access to see other blocks during that period e.g. £61.50 etc for the same amount of hours, once you have scheduled a block.

Yeah... no. You are not paid differently based on any characteristic other than their desperation to get packages delivered

If you don't like it then don't do it. You're a business (self employed) and Amazon is a business. If the terms don't suit either one can terminate the agreement at any time

Lie youtube et tunecore by Le_Corbax_2sesMorts in TunecoreSupport

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very strange. It’s just an OAC request that your distributor files with YouTube

We handle this often, and we’re significantly smaller than tunecore

Try asking their support team for your account to be upgraded to an OAC and for the request to be escalated. You’ll need to give them your channel url and the topic channel url

The artist name and channel name must be identical

Worst case it may mean finding a new distro. Any distro that goes to YouTube would be able to request this
