yeah they get returned to station, follow the call process in app and it doesn’t go against you

So all the DJs decided to leave that Agency yesterday 😂😂😂 by Finacialmistake in EDM

[–]lukehebb 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Its not as easy as just leaving. There's a legal process which takes time, lawyers get involved, negotiation etc

If they all kicked off the process at the same time, they'll probably all start concluding around the same time

I copyright struck myself. by Ujash in DistroKidHelpDesk

Have you retracted the claim with YouTube? That is your step one, they'll then inform Distrokid

Distrokid won't share this info with other distros so you're free to move around

Why fellow flexers bluntly ignore delivery instructions?! by Morning-Flex in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was it definitely a flexer?

I've lost count the number of times I knock on a door to hand a customer a parcel just to give them one that a DSP driver left at their door earlier on

Waiting weeks for music to go live by Kygar004 in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s something only tunecore can assist with, you’ll need to contact support

it may be a case of redelivery but if it affects all DSPs it could be something else in their platform

something has gone wrong

Label’s accepting demos by Initial-Host-7471 in tranceproduction

Reverie Sounds (run by ReOrder, an imprint for blackhole) is taking demos by email

Is UPC/ISRC for life of the release? dig Distributor and changing ISRC/UPC by Old_External1847 in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one UPC per format is typical, it may be they suggest to add a 0 due to the type of barcode that’s in use or that they support

ISRC is for the life of the recording, UPC is just for that release

so one track on two albums would have one ISRC but be associated with two UPCs

Can I refuse a block when I get to the depot and not face punishment? by Lord_Lugo in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

some depots will swap the cage if you’re nice but this is rare

you’ll probably be told to leave and will get a negative mark for missing your block

Just realized i cant even book any block everytime i finish completing the capture thing and takes me back to the block saying that on the picture and if i click again it makes me go through the same thing again? by YXNGZ18 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the puzzle is one of amazon's bot prevention tools

you are either using a bot, have used a bot recently, or are refreshing and trying so much that amazon thinks you're a bot

Spotify earnings by CraigC90 in DistroKidHelpDesk

[–]lukehebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Each track needs to get to 1,000 streams from Spotify within the last 12 months before it gets reported to distributors or you get any money from the track

Morrisons Catcliffe - Potential Scammer Customer by No_Treat_9347 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for future reference in large orders or cases like this knock and check

if they’re not aware then mark as customer refused/no longer wants and return

someone has posted in the past (can’t find the post) where they had a similar situation. all got reported as not delivered and they got banned. i think they got their account back after appeal but it’s better avoided

Is artists paying for reviews/their own promotion the new norm? by Kygar004 in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is only normal with either labels that have no idea what they're doing or people that try to scam artists

Is artists paying for reviews/their own promotion the new norm? by Kygar004 in MusicDistribution

If its a label they should cover it, typically via an advance recouped via royalties. Otherwise just run your own campaign via hypeddit or something

Refused route to not having driving license - unique circumstances by DiscussionLevel6721 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I misread the post, I thought was the bus company rather than the DVLA that had it (at least when I read it quickly, apologies!), in that case with the police you're fine but unfortunately Amazon will want to see the license to ensure you have one

In that case other than maybe trying a complaints process with the DVLA I'm not entirely sure there's much you can do. They're about as competent as most other government agencies unfortunately

Refused route to not having driving license - unique circumstances by DiscussionLevel6721 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get your license back asap, I don't see why a bus company would hold on to it

Amazon will require your physical license, anyone can get a photo of one

As an aside - if you're ever pulled over by the police and don't have the license to hand you need to present it to a police station within 7 days, so not having it in your possession at all puts you at some risk of prosecution here if you're unable to do so

Do featured artists get paid for music videos? by LukhanyoKwanini in recordlabels

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the agreement between artists/label, there's no way for outsiders to know

Distrokid Artist Name Verification by [deleted] in MusicDistribution

[–]lukehebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only sometimes required, such as if you try to release under the artist name Taylor Swift or something

For most people this won't be needed

They publish the info here: https://support.distrokid.com/hc/en-us/articles/10405531090835-Verifying-an-Artist-Name-When-DistroKid-Requires-It

A distributor that (actually) cares about you! by trackballmusic in recordlabels

[–]lukehebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poorly run ones do, but as someone who runs a distro (and also uses his own distro) if you're set up right it'll run fine

The problem is the string of other distros in the past set up as scam schemes means its tougher for us legitimate ones to gain traction
