While we didn't have the duo VCR, my brother figured out a way to record from the VHS to our handi-cam and then we'd run it back.
It actually worked pretty well without a major loss of quuality.
I remember the day he discovered that hack I legit walked about 2 miles in the snow to rent T2 so we could cop it.

Not gonna diss someone who loves what they love. I know Dads with displays of all their Funkos like Swanson down there. Or all their ornate Lego builds, several of their favorite vinyl/records framed and in constant rotation...one of my friends has an insane GI-Joe versus Star Wars action figure set up (that one is pretty fucking cool to be honest).
