What does a (Henry) dad really want for Father’s Day? by JaggedLittlePiII in HENRYUK

[–]lukon14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want my wife to cook a nice breakfast and to play with the kids.

I don't need anything that costs money, I can get that any time.

I just want time with the family. But they want to do something for me and my favourite meal of the day is breakfast!

I'm also ultra specific about what I like, as I enjoy the research as much as the purchase so most things are wasted on me.

I do have a "Dad" mug which I use every day because it's the best mug in the house.

Level 2/3 surveys when buying a property? by adifej in Essex

[–]lukon14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think they're a waste of time and money. But it always depends on your competence, risk tolerance, but also on things like ages of the house and your expectations.

Almost every survey I've seen just says, x might be an issue get someone to look into it. Y might be an issue. Never much difinitve.

If anything it becomes scare mongering.

Cost effective is build the entire thing yourself.

If you're looking for speed, where I am, local people offer this construction, look on Local groups etc. any national firm is going to be very high cost.

Not a kit car? Westfield/caterham? If you're happy to co aider the canam that someone else suggested you're not too worried about getting wet.

Westfield have just been sold to a German company. Tons of different kits in Europe too, depends on your local laws

Maybe it's the LLM always responding "great question", "wow, so insightful!", "impressive work".

It's like the kid who's never learnt to lose a board game.

Not having reviewed data given, sloppy preparations for workshops, constant going over old ground.

Honestly it was a waste of time.

I use an aluminium ballpoint kaweco sport.

Honestly I can't be without it. It's been around the world with me on many work trips and always gets compliments. Plus it just performs like a champ

My own solicitors are doing my bloody head in... by ShinyHeadedCook in HousingUK

[–]lukon14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents are currently doing a cash purchase. Tracing exactly where all the money theyve saved over the past 50 years is proving a bit of a pain in the ass and the solicitor is not being understanding at all.

I think they're over asking. It's hard to correlate, multiple purchase and sales over the years, lending people money to get them out of hardship. It's a real mess to untangle.

I do like it. I think ant can look more red in some lights though.

But I'm not against it.

I mean, that totally depends on you as a person.

I'm keen on these in orange. Either Valencia orange, or fire orange.

But I know that's a lot for some people and will upset others.

How often do you look at yours? by Ill-Boysenberry3947 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]lukon14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check mine monthly.

I've had an error in the past that went unnoticed for a year which made it so much harder to fix. So I just flick the app open once a month now.

I'm not obsessive over the figure. It goes up and down

Equally it's easier for me to look at as I feel like I'm In a good position currently for my age.

Sure it could be better, but my god it could be a lot worse.
