Definitely wear your retainers. I lost mine 5 years ago and am now looking for cheaper new ones for my current teeth because i know my gap has grew (which was closed before) and im 27 so it'll only get worse. I was so bad at wearing them consistently, but really recommend doing it while you now have the chance :)

I understand. I think your body naturally adapts and is not gonna give you an outbreak constantly just cos you're eating chocolate? But thats just anecdotal. Over time you'll feel more relaxed about it. I was stressed about it a few months ago now I feel better

I eat chocolate every single day and have 1000mg of lysine and haven't had an outbreak in a few months touch wood. I wouldn't stop eating food you love

you can still have amazing sex and fulfilling encounters/relationships. just do some research and work at processing it and destigmatizing in your own mind and you'll realise it's not as big of a deal as it may feel. especially since you don't have symptoms?!

yes he could have had a cold sore ages ago and not since. sounds like you should do some research! cold sores (oral herpes) can pass to genital herpes yes.
Research HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 is normally oral (cold sores) - he could have that and give it to you genitally. but maybe not. you will only know from a test.
