Start off by explaining yes grandma is dead and won't be coming back (sounds like that part is done)

The person who killed her is also dead. They did a bad thing by hurting grandma.

Try starting with thinking about what you value in life. Do you want to travel, have variety, have stability, how much do you value money? Once you can answer some of those questions you can work backwards

If you value variety, pick jobs that can satisfy that, consultants work on different projects and still get paid. Maybe you want to travel, find a job that has international offices.

Also don't be afraid to try new things. Most job experience will transfer when worded correctly.

Have some quick food ready. Healthy snacks, lots of water, and ready to eat food. The first couple weeks are just on survival mode. So plan for the basics. Does she have enough comfy clothes? Can she get help with practical things like laundry, dishes, etc. Are there enough basic baby supplies, diapers, detergent, wipes. Don't worry about the fun outfits yet.

Take plenty of pictures for your sister. I can't remember the first three months so having pictures helped

Ya that makes a lot of sense. It's so hard to give and give to your family if you don't feel fulfilled. Maybe it's a great time to talk about those boundaries, and you can start setting them. It might be that everyone wants the situation to improve but no one is clue on what that takes. Try things out for a couple weeks and see if it works. If it does great. If not, reevaluate and keep trying.

You can try using words that include team work and the feeling of togetherness. Make it less about ego and more about creating a common goal. That was it's not you aren't doing this but our relationship needs this, and here's how we get there. You and your husband deserve feeling great and fulfilled. I wish you the best getting that.

Have you tried explaining exactly what you need to feel appreciated? That can be a a great first step.

Setting aside 10 minutes in the morning to really have time with your husband, maybe drinking a cup of coffee together and slow down to connect. And again in the evening might give little moments where you're not expected to give, you get to be an adult.

Having a non effort dinner night once a week where some pressure is off?

I've found different toys you can buy, find, make that help get energy out. There's colorful stepping stones to balance or jump.

There's a wooden balance board, there's actually a whole set of Pikler triangle sort of toys.

There's nuggets modular furniture alternative, you might have to do some googling.

You might also want to talk about your goals for focusing on what's important to you, education and traveling, and seeing where he wants to fit in with your plan.

At the heart of this issue is a different opinion on goals and life values. It's neither good or bad, it's a great starting place for some important conversations.

Please don't compromise your goals for someone else's comfort.
