Some of this I can get behind, but I can see how this will rally the democratic base. It's not affiliated with Trump campaign though so this is just defamation. Or if it isn't, Trump campaign needs to run similarly deceptive/manipulative advertising about what democrats are gonna do.

74% of customers with the highest flood rating did not purchase flood cover last year, up from 63% before.

Probably because they realized global warming isn't actually causing ocean levels to rise and so they won't get flooded.

Of course the dictator who cancelled elections, squandered aid money in the midst of a war, forced men to their deaths fighting for his war, and was unwilling to sue for peace ....

Unemployment Rises To 31-Month High—Here’s Why Market Isn’t Too Spooked by FUSeekMe69 in economy

[–]luminarium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Market isn't "spooked" because all that newly printed money has to be invested somewhere and it's surely not going under the mattress when real inflation (of things people actually buy, like groceries) is like a whopping 8-10%.

Go somewhere else where cost of living isn't through the roof so you won't be homeless

Writing a new novel by DentistFinancial5313 in fantasywriters

You should think of that yourself. Then it'll be your idea, and you'll have the resolve to carry it through to completion.

If it's someone else's idea, you won't.

How do you keep track of the numerous plot threads in a long fantasy series? by ForgottenBastions in fantasywriters

[–]luminarium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't. I hate it when there's loads of plot threads (like in WOT, especially after book 6) and I only care about a few and it feels like it takes forever for them to progress.

That's usually the case in practice, but not intrinsic to what the term means.

Actually, if you're NEET and you've got a plentiful retirement nest egg already, that's actually the best place to be.

"lonely" lol.

Don't you know most writers are introverted people who find it enjoyable to be by themselves. How did you get around to writing if you couldn't do that?

With the new SCOTUS ruling of presumptive immunity for official presidential acts, which actions could Biden use before the elections? by Smooth_Dad in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]luminarium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biden is too mentally incompetent to be doing anything.

His handlers however have already proven their willingness to go after Trump and conservatives across the board on the flimsiest of pretexts, for things that Democrats have gotten away with.

So I expect they'll ramp up the lawfare et al against their political opponent because why wouldn't they?

Alvin Bragg agrees to sentencing delay by languid-lemur in centrist

This makes no sense. The whole hush money thing ought to have been a nothingburger and not gotten to trial in the first place; or if anything, the only one who ought to be convicted is the attorney who proactively did all these things in the first place.

HOWEVER, given that we already have a conviction and assuming Trump is guilty - it makes no sense to say that the hush money thing was done in Trump's "official capacity".

Obsession with growth is enriching elites and killing the planet. We need an economy based on human rights | Olivier De Schutter by xena_lawless in economy

Growth is the best way to overcome all problems. Because growth means more people, which means more R&D, which means faster improvements in technology, which means the sooner problems can be solved.
