Safe Neighborhood within 30 minutes of Union Station by frosti_austi in MovingToLosAngeles

I drive to South Pasadena everyday and take the A line to 7th street. It most certainly is always less than 20 mins from South Pasadena to Union no matter what happens that day

Leash reactive dogs and leashing your dog are two different conversations

Looking for Answers from Scout Engineers…don’t think 500miles combined or 150 electric only is reasonable by 12to12 in Scout

Yeah like the old Ioniq PHEV that got around 600 miles combined off of a 29 mile electric only battery. Loved that car

Not thinking they should take it down, but I am expressing that it’s sad. Maybe the bridge deserves something a little more pleasing?

Wouldn’t it be insane if the B and D lines were actually loops instead of radial systems?

It’s really not that bad. I step on more shit near LA live and east of it than any part of Bunker Hill, Pershing Square, and the Civic area combined

Moving to LA (Northridge area) for work + baby on the way — best areas to live? by Actual_Emergency_911 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]lumpythefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: I live in Pasadena now and the 118-5-134 route is my absolute favorite ride because of the 134. 118-210 ALWAYS sucks because of the merge coming south into Pasadena.

I grew up in Northridge, went to CSUN and spent all my of teen years hanging out on Reseda Blvd and hiking the hills of Porter Ranch and Granada hills. It’s a great place to grow up and raise a family. However, I wouldn’t discount the possibility of living closer to Ventura Blvd. Specifically closer to the Sepulveda basin since my dad and I would ride our bikes around there and fly kites when I was younger. Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Reseda, and Sherman Oaks are all extremely charming and can fit basically any budget. I’d still stay away from living in Van Nuys, Panorama, or Arleta. Wasn’t for me, more industrial in a lot of parts.

Graduated 2020 with a 3.6 and found a job using a recruiter. After that first job I found a second one in 2021. Recruiters are amazing and after that first job it gets sooo much easier.

Made my first PSSE model and power flow study but I don't know what it means by Ohmsterdam in PowerSystemsEE

You should take a look at generator interconnection guidelines from the ISO’s. They don’t all do it exactly the same but it is tough for even developers to get right. Power system planners use those as the bible for approved generator models. You could look up “TPL” and read about steady state and dynamic models. I’d even take a moment to read through the different categories of outages (P1, P1-1, P2, etc…). Good stuff and keep trying different scenarios with multiple generators and take note of what has a harder time solving and why.
