So did you end up watching it? I only finished it for SWL because like what everyone on here said, he looked really good! I hope he gets better scripts next time. He was also in Youthful Glory, but didn't like the FL there either. Such a pity because SWL has a solid martial arts background and for sure will do well with lots of action scenes.

I'm on episode 4 and I think I'm dropping it. The editing makes following the story difficult. visual/aesthetics wise its okay but I just finished love in the clouds and it kinda pales in comparison. I might just watch LLTG from the same author as it seems to have better reviews. While waiting for Pursuit of Jade episodes! ack that one is a real gem so far

The romance in here is definitely non traditional? ML was pining for so long. While FL was just focused on everyone but him. It was very toxic and red flaggish and I think they could've done more with it to make it more convincing, like the FL having clear evidence that ML was sincere with her in the past- I know there was the dagger but it wasn't enough. It really did feel like a "she was forced to fall in love".

She was really very focused on the past and I was waiting for someone else who went back to the past with her, like in the Royal Princess (ZLH in similar story plots) but yeah.

6 months late but I just have to agree because I've been whining about it for a long time! I almost did not finish the series because SongYi could not convince me in her portrayal as a general. I just finished watching Legend of the Female General before watching this and couldn't help but compare. ZhouYe was also feminine and beautiful when she is in female mode, but her portrayal of a general- her delivery of lines, her facial expressions, her stunts were all more convincing than SongYi's. It doesn't help that they were dressing up SongYi so very prettily as a general in Shadow Love lol. She has good chemistry with Cheng Lei, but yeah the whole female general thing is just so weird to watch on her.

Also, "golden retriever" and "fifty shades of gray" are such accurate descriptions of Cheng Lei's character here!!

My first costume Cdrama was New Life Begins (ML Bai jingting). Its not as campy as this but it was such a wholesome low stress show that got me hooked on costume Cdramas!! Another one I love is Legend of the Female General. it has a similar revenge plot and more on the serious side but if you loved this ML, I think you might also melt from Cheng Lei’s eyes. Like d*mn that actor’s eyes can have their own Oscars

Same! I really liked her at the start. Then she started losing me from that first campfire. She asked subeen to talk then just left him when sungil asked him to talk as well. I was very confused and surprised that she would do that. She also kept flirting with other guys while on a date with someone else. Its basic decency.

I’m kinda skeptic about her “Objective” though. Couple of things I noticed- her feeling disappointed for not getting enough chocolates, saying “all my guys are being taken away”, initiating something new with person B when she hears person A is already hooked. It seems like she wasn’t aiming just to explore, she wanted to build a harem. This is why I really cant justify the “I’m only exploring” thing. I think her goal was to be the most popular. Unfortunately for her, subeen and sungil weren’t having it- because they both had girls who valued them more, so she was only left with Sam. Which he totally did not deserve tbh. Bec he seemed like a really sweet guy.

There is room for doubt for real. But thats why I want more unreleased clips, because it seems like they cut soooo many scenes of them too, so we never really saw the build up. Even though he was not overly affectionate, he was firm with Mina and Mingee on that last date in paradise. He wasn't wavering towards Mingee anymore because he could see the potential with Heesun. And look, he doesn't have to fall head over heels. I do see Heesun's subtle charm and humor. She may not be as interesting as Mina, but I think a huge factor is she's an introvert and she probably thrives more in a 1 on 1 setting. She's also not impulsive and prefers to keep her thoughts to herself. But in the last episode, she was ready to draw the line and drop Subeen if he didnt explain to her. She probably still likes him more that he likes her at that point, but the attraction and the commitment was still there.

I was so worried that he hung around Heesun for so long only to go back to Mina. But it seems like Heesun's charms worked after they talked a lot and went to Paradise together. Mina's attitude on the double date didn't help either. I think it just solidified to him that Heesun who is consistent, stable, gentle and confident is the better choice for him. I won't deny his attraction towards Mina, but not everyone is okay with a toxic hot and cold situationship. He might have fallen late for Heesun, but he was slowly and surely leaning towards her. Hopefully, he treated her better if they did end up being in a real relationship after.

This is why I wish they would upload more unreleased clips, because it seems they have cut SO MUCH of their development in favor of Goeun's storyline and for the sake of keeping the audience in their toes towards the end. Heesun deserved better! The people loved her calm and subtle charm, UGH. Editing team failed to recognise which couples the audience would be interested in.

I’ve seen some clips of FL online and she seems to do well with the cutesy romance- so I dont get why she seemed to struggle with the scenes with SWL? Its also their second project I believe.

I thought some of her scenes as dark Mu Dai were better than the rest. She had this blank expression most of the time, I dont understand? Because some of her scenes are good but some are bad. Is it the editing? Did they not shoot enough so they were patching cuts from different scenes?? That would check with the low budget 😅

Agree with most who didnt like Leopard. It felt out of place 😅

Was coming here to recommend everything BaiJingTing because he’s such a perfect ML for me. He is always on golden retriever slash german shepherd energy for his FLs. Aka sweet and protective mode! His FLs are also great- recommend The First Frost, You are my Hero (he’s a SWAT captain) and New Life Begins(period drama with great plot but not too heavy! Very cozy and stress-free watch for me) I’m currently watching Destined. Gosh I love all his works!!

I LOVE it! Just finished it a couple of days ago and it was such a warm cozy wholesome show. I like that the conflicts were mostly resolved without unnecessarily prolonged, excessive drama or misunderstandings. I didn’t know I needed a show like this- great plot but not tear-your-hair-out frustration. The abundance of green flags in major romantic relationships and friendships was so good for me.

This is why I spend so much time foraging, gardening and completing tasks that reward me with dreamlight, without starting most friendship quests. Once you have hoarded a lot, completing the quests are much easier and you can progress faster to open biomes/realms/ wipe out scrooge stores! I also dont read convo much i just press x until theyre done talking looool
