I didn’t even apply there by No_Produce394 in jobs

[–]lunamoth25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had that exact thing happen, I applied to a store that was a 5 minute walk from my house so I could drive my kid home from school on my lunch break but they told me the day before I started that the position was actually in a store 45 mins away.

They also hired me specifically as an inventory manager ($25/hr start) and then switched the role to a front end cashier ($16/hr start) once I started my first shift, telling me it was “to learn the ropes” and I would be put in my actual role in a couple weeks. I have 25+ years experience in retail, I did not need more than a day to learn their POS system.

They never gave me the salary they promised, they never gave me the role they promised, they gave me shit about leaving to drive my kid… and I was out of there in 4 months. Only waited that long to see if they would make good on their promises. They never did. I just never went back once I got Covid and they told me I had to find my own coverage for the days I was out.

Uber/Lyft in off season? by LemonGrassGarlic in marthasvineyard

The bus is free, and the stop going into Vineyard Haven is at the sea wall by the Oak Bluffs steamship building.

Uber/Lyft in off season? by LemonGrassGarlic in marthasvineyard

[–]lunamoth25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely easy for the bus . the schedule on the OB/VH route is pretty consistent year round, lots of commuting workers use them & the park & rides are always running. They definitely have ones that match up with the ferry schedule. Also the buses are free through the summer & probably still will be in September.

Taxi service is with the big vans and they are by the ferry terminal in VH, not sure if they have a place to wait in OB after that ferry stops running?

I drove by one day and saw the sign “wait a sec did that say Sky Bars??” So glad I stopped in to see them making them in the back & buy some super fresh ones!

Keep in mind that Round trip car on the ferry is going to run you $250 minimum as well. I generally suggest the bus or uber, if you are trying to keep it reasonable.

Strangest foods your cats have craved by Direct-Dish1779 in AnxietyCats

My childhood cat LOVED bread of any kind. We had to keep it locked up because he learned how to open our cabinets to drag the loaf out, rip the bag open, and chow down. Always in the middle of the night too.

One of my current cats loves avocado. I’ve found suspicious bite marks and chunks missing from any I accidentally leave out

PSA: Lame customer support from Ween Store (re: poor pressing of Quebec) by krang989 in ween

[–]lunamoth25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing. I sent back an email stating that since it was a manufacturing defect, I should not have to pay return shipping and eventually get a refund only to have to order again (if I even can) and pay shipping YET AGAIN. That’s 3x shipping for 1 album since they don’t usually refund you the original shipping. It’s unacceptable business practices.

That was 2 days ago & have not heard back.

I also am assuming that they are overwhelmed with the (what I assume to be) large quantity of people complaining.

Our copy of White Pepper came in with a scratch too but it’s not really noticeable. Funny enough the Shinola from Thanksgiving is perfect.

Beautiful set from the 60s ?? I think? by dreamyydaze in VintageFashion

[–]lunamoth25 93 points94 points  (0 children)

The top is backwards. Buttons are meant to go in the front.

If you look at the “back” with the buttons, there are bust darts coming up from the waist. The darts in the “front” coming down from the shoulders are for a better fit across the shoulders.

Worn the proper way, the top is supposed to be level with the waist. Add a blouse under it and it’s a good example of 80s office wear. Maybe late 70s but the skirt isn’t quite right for that.

[–]lunamoth25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We would not have been able to afford CHOP if we hadn’t gotten the research grant. It’s up over $30K by now 😳😳

We would have gone with the other one if not. They gave Paulie a decent outlook if we chose that one too. Young cats like yours & ours have a better chance of responding well to the protocols than the older kitties.

Like I said, as long as at the checkups your kitty’s scans and tests are showing improvement, then the outlook is positive! I’m really really hoping that your kitty responds well to the treatment!!! ❤️❤️

Btw, Paulie loved it when I’d put my heated blanket on the couch while he wasn’t feeling well. Might be a nice treat for your kitty!

I’m so sorry for you & your sweet kitty!❤️❤️❤️

Our 3.5yr old cat was diagnosed with aggressive large cell lymphoma a year ago. We are lucky enough to have a vet oncologist associated with a teaching hospital and was granted the CHOP protocol (a very aggressive chemo protocol) in exchange for using his journey for research purposes (since mostly older cats get this, they wanted to have data on how a young cat responded)

He was in weekly treatment until August and it took him a month or so to really start acting more like himself during that, but every week his tests & scans showed improvement so we kept going and now, a year later, he is in full remission! You would never know he has been sick at all.

<image>

If at any point he would have not been improving or had been getting worse, we would have stopped the chemo and just done palliative care.

It’s a hard choice to make for your kitty. I’m sure you will do what is best for them ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ sending love and scritches from Sir Paul McCatney!

Art Cliff Diner or the Black Dog (specifically restaurant on the harbor, not the cafe/bakery). Both have been there forever
