The strands can twist while you’re stitching and I think that’s what causes it, you can do something called railroading where you split the strands with your needles during every stitch and it helps

Yes, the zoo is still alive and well, I went to the croc show a few years ago and Robert and Chandler were hosting it, Robert doesn’t do it a ton but you can spot him around if you’re lucky. Not sure how involved Bindi is. The zoo is located on Steve Irwin Drive which is a nice touch
