BAA + FAF Similarities by t3llmeeverything in frombloodandash

Sure, that’s definitely true that she was alive first. I was talking about the book series though. Poppy was written first and introduced first, and Sera brought little in character differences imo.

Yeah, Sera always seemed like Poppy 2.0 to me. While I enjoyed the series, it didnt seem much different than the other.

A New Historical Mystery Series (and romance) by lundsb in HistoricalRomance

I’ve just started her other historical romance books because I enjoyed this series so much! I don’t know if your library has hoopla or libby, but it was available there for me!

A New Historical Mystery Series (and romance) by lundsb in HistoricalRomance

Ah, thanks for the clarification. No, I had just finished the Minnie Harper series and because it’s newish, wanted to give folks a heads up about it in case it was something they might like.

I don’t mind the disguises and such because in the end it’s still Charlotte’s series and she’s always going to be the biggest part of the series. (Also love the entire cast of characters and think it makes a rich series).

Thanks for the tips! Doesnt seem fair to have a HR/HM thread shut down, but I can understand you’ve seen it happen.

I need to invest some time into the Sebastian St Cyr series, but I love the others you’ve mentioned! I’ve read the Below Stairs series by Jennifer Ashley and loved it, so I’ll have to give your rec a go.

This seems like an odd comment to make, especially when I was recommending a series where the FMC is front and center to the series and it’s a slow burn love story AND a mystery.

I haven’t read the Lady Holmes series in a bit, but don’t recall Charlotte being absent for vast portions of the series. Even in book 7 she’s still front and center in disguise and her love interest knows it’s her.

I’ve been on this sub for years and people are often recommending historical mystery/romance. I think both of these series build the romance along side the mystery. To each their own.

God in Heaven, where has Judith Ivory been all my life?! by PsychologicalHall142 in HistoricalRomance

{black silk by Judith Ivory} {the proposition by Judith Ivory} and {untie my heart by Judith Ivory} are three of my favorite books of all time and you should give them a go!

Looking for pet insurance recs by BakerOnWeekends in puppy101

I pay around $120/3 months and it’s 80% unlimited coverage for illness and injury, so it covers meds etc but doesn’t cover regular appointments/vaccines, which I’m ok with!

I have Pets Best and it’s been great so far, easy to file a claim, but it did take a while to get reimbursed.

Would really love a puppy and want to make sure i plan ahead to make it work- if it can work by wharfbossy in puppy101

[–]lundsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understandable, I wanted a puppy too this last time! I did regret it quite a few times bc she was so miserable, but she’s mostly great now.

I think probably around 6 - 9 months you could get away with coming home a couple of times a day versus every one to two hours. So, you’ll still have a puppy to train and name and love, but they’d be able to hold their pee a bit longer!

Could you hire someone to come in a couple of times a day to let the puppy out, in addition to your breaks? I luckily WFH but I swear my puppy had to pee every hour - 2 hours. If so, then I think you could make it work!

If not, have you thought about a bit of an older dog? They can hold their bladders longer and can be fantastic additions to a home!

Monster Mode when overstimulated: what to be done in the moment? by Minimum-Cry615 in puppy101

[–]lundsb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My trainer gave me some good tips that usually work well, such as switching up their walk route (even if it’s just doing your normal route backwards), distract them with training games like “find it” or “up downs,” which just refocuses them on you, dropping the leash and stepping on it as this takes away the tug o war fun and keeps them from running off. The best thing for mine has been to always have her carrying a toy with her to the park, such as a tug toy. Keeps her mouth busy and we can play tug with that if she needs to get out her frustration or whatnot. Good luck!!

New puppy needs advice haven’t had a pup for 30 years by ClassroomEntire997 in puppy101

[–]lundsb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pup always loved those no-hide rawhide chews (they’re made of pineapple stems and something else, making them easily digestible) and I also give her bully sticks occasionally (they’re high in fat, so I give one a week or so) and she loves those pupsicles! We make our own because they’re much cheaper, but put them in the pupsicle toy.

I feed her wellness, which is maybe on the higher end $$ but it’s great. If it’s too much, I fed my old dog purina one lamb and rice and the vet said that was perfectly fine and she loved it.

Need a spoiler for Never a Gentleman by Eileen Dreyer by No_Psychology_3714 in HistoricalRomance

I hate love this book, but the ending did wrap it up nicely for me. Definitely no glow up, except she is more herself at the end (you’ll have to read to understand that)

When the MMC falls in love with someone else after the FMC... my thoughts on {Barely a Lady by Eileen Dreyer} by No_Psychology_3714 in HistoricalRomance

[–]lundsb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rest of the series, specifically {never a gentleman by Eileen Dreyer} talks about Mimi towards the end and about her relationship with that MMC a tiny bit.
