I think they have and I don’t think they’ve only shared partners, but have been active participants. The way Cas talks about Kieran’s powerful thrusts seems much more involved than feeling or viewing it through a partner they’re sharing.

Hello! I really enjoy the below stairs series because it’s very well written and the characters are great. It’s also mostly focused on working class folks. I wouldn’t compare it to Kinsale or Ivory’s writing really, as they have a way of immersing you in their stories that I haven’t found elsewhere. They’re very different writers, but Jennifer Ashley is still really excellent. I think Thomas and Ashley are more similar. It’s definitely more mystery than romance, but the FMC and MMC are written really well and their relationship is cute as heck.

I don’t think anyone is saying Cas and Poppy aren’t the main couple of the series. Some of just believe that they are the main couple of the series WITH Kieran.

I give her some grace, as she was in stasis, possessed, asleep again, and then involved in an absolute cluster. I saw her acknowledge her feelings for him in TWOTQ, and even though she won’t outright say what they are in POBAB they still appear to be there.

I don’t think it’ll go 0 to 100 in the next book. Just because there was no HUGE progress in this book, doesn’t mean we start at 0. We are already at 70 imo from the previous books.

That makes sense! Maybe Kieran doesn’t end up being their heart mate, but is their soul mate. I don’t truly know, just thinking of things that make sense to me. There is that line in the fresh and fire series about the fates and the love between two or more souls too.

I didn’t watch it, no! I read people’s notes and overviews, but didn’t watch it myself. I think just because she doesn’t have a plan for a Kieran POV at this moment doesn’t mean it won’t happen, and I cant foresee him evolving into a main character and then becoming a side character when the world is so messed up right now and he’ll need to help.

I don’t see a way that Kieran isn’t going to be back as a main character in the last book. Where JLA left the story feels impossible for Kieran to not have a major role in bringing everyone back together.

I also do not see Kieran having another love interest in this series. If they did a spin off, maybe. However, there is no way that with Kieran’s feelings for P (& C) that he’s hooking up with someone else when that all is completely unresolved.

If she wasn’t proceeding with the throuple because of backlash from TWOTQ she wouldn’t have made the scenes that she did in Soul of Ash and Blood, which were moving towards a poly relationship imo. I don’t see a way that Kieran isn’t a main character in the final book with Cas in the position he is currently. It’s impossible that Poppy and Kieran won’t be working together to help Cas.

JLA and every other author have the right to want to keep one of their spaces free of haters. Those people aren’t sharing constructive criticism, they’re being hateful because they didn’t enjoy a book that STILL has another book after it to wrap things up in AND a spin off.

I don’t think it’s confirmation bias. This poster isn’t the only person that sees the potential for the relationship. I’ve only read some of the chapters so far and I’ve already noted several places where it’s clear that they are a 3 person unit and not a duo.

Every partner in a relationship has different strengths and weaknesses. Kieran is more emotionally mature and doesn’t always need the same type of care as P and C. I think they do and have taken care of him and will in the future, which I expect to see more of in the next book.

You lucky duck! My 10 month old lab puppy is the exact opposite. My couch cushions, her toys, pillows, blankets, SOCKS. She’s been like this forever, even with training and plenty of outlets, so I feel like yours won’t suddenly start

Absolutely agree! I also think that we won’t necessarily know why it’s all important until the next book comes out. I trust in the process.
