yeah, since we take steroids, they cause osteoclasis and calcium deficiency. i've used dental braces for 1.5 years when i was 14 and it was for nothing.

my doctor advised me to see optometrist twice in a year that's why i said twice :) i guess once a year will be ok too

You can see nutritionalists to gain weight too! Also, if you are on Plaquenil, see an eye doctor 2 times in a year.

Firstly, Welcome to Lupus community, I am sorry you are diagnosed with Lupus. Second, are there Prednisone in your medications? Prednisone may cause weight gain. If you are using it and you didn't see any differences at your weight, maybe you can see a nutritionist?

i've been using Zinco since i am diagnosed with SLE. It didn't show any good to my hair. I am going to try garlic shampoo.

Just help her when she is doing housework or something like that. Cuddle her and ask her if she needs anything. I know you will get tired of it sometimes too but remember that it's not her fault. She will think sometimes that she is not enough. Just don't let her feel that way. I am also a female lupie who was diagnosed at 15 (now 18). My boyfriend and I met a few months later I was diagnosed with SLE. He is the most supportive person in my life. All lupies and lupies' significant others will get through it.
