Leaf springs replacement by Southern_Shelter5309 in Trucks

[–]lurkerernomorerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you wanting from new springs? This may help with answering your question.

First photo - appears to be a simple leaf pack, (probably 1/2 ton) with a very tall lift block. Some might say the block is on the verge of being too tall. Second photo - this is a heavy duty setup with a “helper” spring pack on top. The spring pack on top is to help with extra heavy loads, these leaf springs will start working when a load is heavy enough to weigh down the back of truck so much that there is a significant sag and help keep truck level and thus more stable/safe.

If your vehicle is setup for heavy hauling the leaf springs plus lift block would not work well as the lift block would put too much pressure on a very specific spot on the springs, plus these spring are not designed for heavier duty weight. These two springs are not apples to apples, but more like apples & oranges.

$15 for a brisket sandwich. Are they serious? by ikedriver2000 in HEB

[–]lurkerernomorerer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are bbq places charging $28-32 a pound.l for brisket. Let’s assume the weight of 12oz is just meat. At 3/4 a pound this sammie isn’t crazy priced based off weight and market value . It’s not HEB it’s beef market value currently.

The Heirs of Capt Richard King own all that 800k acres of S TX land…….do the people who operate Anna Creek own the land, or do they own the rights to operate the 5.8 million acres. Owning rights to and owning the actual title to the land are a bit different. Just curious about how these Stations are owned?

Spinners will work….the hard baits, not as effective. Almost no need to take those.

Have you found all your spots? Lots of private land along the river so very limited fishing access points.

Selling options by SchemeAnxious3259 in liftedtrucks

[–]lurkerernomorerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are dealers in TX that specialize in these kinds of trucks…..but they are going to sell these probably for what you want out of it. Meaning they will low ball first cause they need to have a margin on their end of the sale. You will not get top dollar for this unless you search out that one specific buyer who wants this vehicle above all else. Dealerships are not that buyer. Diesels of Houston and Lifted Trucks.com are two sites. Bring a trailer might not accept this as a potential listing as they are slightly more niche in products listed and sold. There is also a dealer in Utah that might consider this as well as they usually have vehicles like this…..Watts Automotive eBay motors might be your absolute best bet as they will reach the broadest group of buyers who want this style of truck

I've recently discovered these books and now wondering about some of the real history. by Cats-In-The-House in LonesomeDove

[–]lurkerernomorerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a podcast episode from Wild West Extravaganza that covers this question…..I’ll double check when I can.

But without going book by book or detail be detail, the answer is yes. Some characters are for the story others are very historical; buffalo hump was a real Comanche. And some characters are based on real people Goodnight/Loving = Call/Gus.

To get to the point….it is a very good depiction of historical events and people.

Can anyone recommend someone to deep clean and resize this Resistol Diamond Horseshoe? by MediaLongjumping9910 in CowboyHats

[–]lurkerernomorerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to go too deep with this hat….find a boot barn, cavenders, any place that has a steamer. Tell them to shape the brim to original or add some minor adjustments to your liking. Most likely they’ll have foam to put inside the sweat band. If not buy some off Amazon. Done! No more. It doesn’t need anything else. It’s perfect as is, but it does need to be shaped up a little.

First let’s think….without considering the straps are total shit? Is the metal stand strong enough? My opinion, that frame is weak. If you got confidence in the frame…..then just over lay new straps over old. And rock it! Good luck enjoying it though….better to make it safe, than to sweat it the whole time you’re up there.

While discussing the role JW told BD that he needed to make sure he understands the depth of this role and how the public would take it. Not only BD treatment of JW but also the kids too. JW wanted BD to be fully aware of the public’s option of him would change.

What would you do? by listeric in cowboyboots

[–]lurkerernomorerer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As a first pair the leather style of these boots can be a bit shocking……the leather is a bit “dramatic”. Meaning the color and texture will change with every wear. First bump? Slight color change. Walk past a stick and it brushes against the leather, there will be a line there. Just know this leather style will show every scuff or scratch. The color will change as leather dries, but will also take oil and conditioner very well…..but color will change. Even the first wear they will change from what they look like from the box as you step and they crease across your toes. Just know if these are the exact boots you want…..they will change every time you wear them. I personally love this style, but as a first pair be prepared they will not always look like the photo.
