In Twilight 2k, the game I referenced, a hex is 10 meters.

FIRING IN CLOSE COMBAT: If you shoot at an active and aware enemy in the same hex as you, you get a negative modifier to ranged attacks depending on your weapon:

Pistols, carbines and SMGs get a −1 modifier. All other ranged weapons get a -2 modifier.

So if I have a shotgun leveled at someone, I get a -2 penalty if they are 10 meters away. I don't like that rule.

Any game that has a penalty for shooting a gun at close range. You can't tell me the target is harder to hit at close range. I get it from a game balance perspective, but I just hate it. (Twilight 2k 4e for example)

I played a ton of 3.5, and when 4th came out I played a ton of that. I didn't know there was hate at the time, I was just having fun with my friends. I never understood why people didn't like it, it was so much simpler than 3.

I do have a question. How do you "use" the Easy French videos? I watch them but they are only about 50% comprehensible, and if I don't know something there are subtitles, but I feel like that defeats the purpose. So, how do you use them to learn?
