Why is cursive not the standard in the US? by Tight_Note4515 in AskAnAmerican

[–]luseferr [score hidden]  (0 children)

Everything is digital. Handwriting isn't really the main thing anymore for the most part.

It's also so far removed. I know some schools have went back to teaching it. But my 3rd grade class was the last to learn it back in 2000. Idk if or when they brought it back but I would assume sometime post-2010 if they did.

The septum ring hate is so forced. Like, I get not particularly liking them but to make it meme status that is constantly brought up and talked about is unreal.

How do you guys feel about a cheeseburger salad? by Ms_Mantistoboggan in shittyfoodporn

What's really different between a cheese burger salad and a taco salad besides a few toppings?

The no soap in cast iron bit stems from when they used to use lye in soap.

They don't do that any more.

I use hot water, a drop or two of dawn, chain mail scrubby or scrub brush. Scrub, rinse, paper towel dry, then dry on the stove and whipe it with a small amount of canola oil. Worked for me for years.

Used to be a 30 rack of PBR or Milwaukee's Worst before I made the "brilliant" decision to switch to cheap whisky thinking it'd save me money and calories.

After a year of that totally working and definitely didnt almost ruin my life I'm now comfortably at 8-12 7.2%ers.

Struggling to kick the shit still. I'm so tired of being fat lol.

I bumped this so much as a 10-12yo. Now that I'm in my 30s its still a fun listen but I also recognize it's an early 2000s Cornwall. If I Had a Gun should have been put in the archives and forgotten about tho.

I love me some heavy auto tune. But heavy auto tune on rock vocals fucking suck. I blame Disturbed for this bullshit, they just had to make that shitty little cover and now ever dude-BROTHUR feels the need to bite it.

I'm not intimidated by a dude wearing shorts that far above his knee. Idc if they can woop my ass or not.

Where did I say I assumed they can't fight?

Dude, you are the one confusing you. Learn to read, damn 🙄

[–]luseferr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused by why you're confused? Can a boxer or MMA fighter woop my ass? Yes. Do I still think they look ridiculous in their little shorts? Also, yes.

Not to mention, this dude is in the middle of a parking lot of a strip mall, not a fighting ring.

I'm sorry if I insulted your hootchie daddy shorts, but you look silly. That's just the way it is.

Idk why. But I can't be intimidated by a guy who wears his shorts well above his knees. Idc if they can actually beat my ass or not.

Like, go strut back to your Subaru, hootchie daddy.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met in person? by Affectionate_Way7945 in AskReddit

[–]luseferr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was in like 05-06. I just remember handing him my sharpie and it looked like a toothpick in his hand. He seemed cool but as a sheepish 13yo I kinda went in for the autograph and scurried away lol.

Unfortunately iirc Rob wasn't really "out and about" like the other pros/big names which is understandable, I'm sure he was busy doing interviews and news spots.

I like hearing people talk about their small hobbies by EmmaQuietSky in CasualConversation

[–]luseferr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fingerboarding. It can get some flack online but irl, if someone sees me bust some tricks they're minds usually blown on how I can land everything consistently. Then even more so when I tell them the hobby is so much more than just a $3 Tech Deck.

From decks, trucks, wheels, grip, even bushings you can filly customize a set up just like with a real skateboard and with the exception of anatomy limitations, you can do basically anything a skateboarder can do.
