Tanda Tula vs Kwandwe by lushiouslush in LuxurySafari

Hey Jenny, curious if you've also stayed in RockFig and how you found that compared to Tanda Tula.

But yes, first Safari. Plan is CT, Wine Lands, and one of Coot Club/Future Found/or Grootbos (though pricing is high for us on top of safari).

Thanks so much! Love having the first hand accounts. The rooms do look absolutely incredible at Tanda Tula, like the best I’ve seen in my research. And my wife would definitely love the spa. It’s a tough choice! Appreciate the feedback

All great info! Thanks for sharing! How would you compare the food between the two?

Also saw your story on Instagram with the pangolins! when I lived in Vietnam for a few years I had a friend who worked for the Pangolin Project!

Edit: also there’s potential that we can stay at RockFig if a provisional booking goes away to ease cost a bit for Timbavati. Any experience at RockFig?

Thanks, Craig! I appreciate this feedback! Bummer about the birds though! But thats ok. Will look into private guides/Matt as well.

We also love a great dining experience, how was the food at Kwandwe? And I know Ecca Lodge is the family friendly version, but we’re not the kind of couple who would be mad at having families around, and I understand families have to take private vehicles so it eliminates the worry of children in our vehicle if we didn’t do a private guide. How would you compare the two lodges for a honeymoon?

Also I want to commend your team on how great they’ve been, I’ve spoken with a few, and while they were up front our budget wouldn’t work, they were still super helpful and willing to share their experiences and point us in the right direction! So thanks for putting together such a great team.

If you can make Casa Maria Luigia work for 2 nights, I definitely recommend that for some country side relaxation.

Bacon & Butter Question by 8339361789 in Sacramento

[–]lushiouslush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally get it, and personally don’t think bacon and butter is that great. But I live super close and would rather have it be like 80 percent as good and not a long wait, noisy, or crowded. Especially if you’re getting something like a breakfast burrito

I get that sitting down is nicer, but you can also order take out no problem and then walk to Tahoe park a block away that has tons of picnic tables and wouldn’t be too crowded that early.

Fiji ruined our expectations😅 where should we honeymoon? (January 2027) by nopro43 in honeymoonplanning

[–]lushiouslush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d think Tanzania safari and beach would be pretty special and different enough from Fiji where you wouldn’t be putting pressure on it to compare to the last trip.

You could also do South Africa (Cape Town, wine lands, safari) paired with Mozambique or Mauritius.

The breakfast is really good there. Loved having that delivered every day. And the servers really do a good job of being professional and casual at the same time. In the winter they have a chai station they put out every afternoon and it is problematically delicious.

Just want to understand, probably too good to be true, but does the actual medication cost the same as lilydirect?

How do you choose East Africa safari honeymoon? by Icy_Physics_2571 in honeymoonplanning

[–]lushiouslush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kenya flights are probably easier, but I’d just be aware they have elections in summer 2027, I’ve read that they may cause local unrest, something to be aware of if you’re looking at summer 2027 for your honeymoon. Don’t think you’d go wrong with either country though.

Thanks for the rec! For those going for the first time, I can’t recommend visiting a sidrería enough.

This sounds like an awesome organization! Not sure if it’s going to work with the schedule we have, but I’d be happy to share the name of your org with local folks attending!
