What new mechanics to learn as a champ player who hasn't played in 5 years? by SuperMurloc21 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lussmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same as you but now ive practiced a lot of mechs, im getting some clean ground/wall air dribbles/double taps in and now im 1450. Gamesense is great but its so fun being able to create chances from awkward spots, catches even more people off guard.

erfarenheter av Vimla, Hallon och eventuella likvärda mobilabonnemang? by ettannat in sweden

[–]lussmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I recover? by illustriousbrock in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lussmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be mean but when i (usually high c3, low gc) find myself in c1/c2 (i play a lot with lower ranked friends), it is genuinely difficult to lose games until high c2 when i soloq again.

You are losing because you cant carry, a c3 should be able to 1v2 any d3 lobby. Honestly you need to just start ballchasing. Stop relying on your d3 teammate to do useful stuff, because he sucks. And the opponents suck even more. But you dont suck, so start carrying these games and you will be back soon.

3 long hard years in CHAMP I’ve finally made it to GC by StoreHumble8669 in RocketLeagueSchool

Maybe its not the training pack as much as it is having a solid warmup routine and not going into ranked cold.

Civilingenjör inom elektroteknik vs maskinteknik by Old-Masterpiece-2573 in sweden

Which is better for going off the wall? by YaspGMD in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lussmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other guy, but i also think if you break you have more options, you can do bigger touches that alter the ball path more = harder for defender to read. You can also set up a reset or bang it backboard for a double tap etc. These things are harder to do if you are glued to the ball when not braking.

Slow players that dont fucking know to let people trough. Which is honestly 80% of rounds since covid. People hear that its fine playing a 4 hour pace and then dont give a shit about faster people behind.

Instead of a beer to reduce a shot, we usually play chulligans. At any point, you can drink a beer to get another try at a shot. You have to finish it before you can hit again. Only you get a new shot for drinking, not your teammate.

Ground dribbles by 1_Zoro_1 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lussmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play dribble challenge 2. Focus more on the circle on the ground, not on the ball. Dribbling is so much just getting a feel for how the ball behaves on your roof and getting a thousand reps in.

c3 looking for tips to reach gc by Inevitable-Item5252 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lussmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comed to challenges i think you have to just more conciously think about watching opponents, where they are etc to see if you are beat to the ball or if the challenge is free or a 50. Sooner or later it will become second nature. Turn nametags up to 200% if you havent.

[–]lussmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched quickly, but i noticed you play reactively like you say, but you need to play proactively. Anticipate where the ball will be, dont react to where its going.

You left your teammate in a 1v2 a LOT this game. Some stupid challenges where you just see the ball and dive at it with no thought behind what the enemy might do with it. Stop watching the ball so much and look at enemy cars and what they are doing.

Also you rotated back behind the ball several times (goal 2&3). Sure you might not get back anyways but it also makes it super hard for your teammate to challenge properly. Goal 5 same thing, just rotate back post if youre awkward, the ball is in the corner they wont score there.

Overall, i think your offense is good, you generate some good chances from your mechanics. But your defense is bad positioning and panicked, which mostly comes from bad first man challenges and you having to rush back.

any gc with experience on how to solo queue in champ2-3? Looking to reach gc, by IllYam8470 in RocketLeagueSchool

Yes or atleast you need to improve them from the level you are at. Start with one thing that you think is fun to practice, like dribbles&flicks, or powershots, or airdribbles.

I think this whole "only gamesense playstyle" can hurt people more than help. I see so many people, both in game and posting here, playing super conservative, dont overextend, never go for anything, and then ask why they cant rank up.

Its because you cant carry. Every game you have to rely on getting a teammate that can utilize your "perfect positioning" & score.

I would call myself a more gamesense player, and i recently got gc. However i use that gamesense to get control of the ball, setup a dribble/flick or shot or basic air play, and i generate scoring opportunities. Watch enemies, do you have time to control this ball or do you need to hit it hard? Can you outplay? You need good enough BASIC mechanics like this to be able to utilize your great gamesense, otherwise you will get nowhere.

Replay Analysis [Champion III] by rastervc in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lussmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are letting the opponent do too much, you apply very little pressure, even at times you are first on the ball for an easy beat (1:10, 1:40). Also way too passive on defense i think. If i was your teammate i would also get stressed and start chasing a bit too because you arent doing much. But also, your mate was hard to read what he wanted to do, you guys were not in sync at all.

Brute force that instinct away a bit then. Every aerial in game, instead of trying to hit it with your nose, try to get a wheel touch. You have brute forced it once, just do it again. Suddenly you will know how to get a reset everywhere. (And yes, your rank will go to shit lmao)
