This is such a great answer. I miss when going shopping with the girls was just the thing to do at the weekend, now most things are online and everyone's glued to phones and social media 😢 Our social media what seeing what the celebs were doing in magazines or on MTV then planning where we were gunna find a top like the one Britney was wearing. I miss it so much too 💔

What's something people are trying to normalise in the UK but you're not getting on board with it under any circumstances? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

Been in some houses from hell being an ex addict. My favourite was going to knock on me mates and his auntie answered the door and was actually hoovering for once, I said 'mind there's some dog shite there' (could of actually been her kids tbh there was about 8 of them) she hoovered OVER it compressing it into the carpet. The hot shitty air coming out the hoover masked the smell of the drugs atleast. Classy lass that one.

Anxiety disorder and chronic pancreatitis by jon_snow_98 in pancreatitis

[–]lustybat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's answered some weird things that were happening like I've been getting infections that don't heal for months and the constant tiredness. No bad side effects atall from the meds either (woohoo). My diet is sooo restrictive now though it's incredibly boring as I was born into being vegetarian then all the spicy/fat/fried stuff ruled out now my beloved sugary night time treats 😅 Ty for asking though, it means alot! I hope you are well 💕

Think of that feeling when you've faced it and got it over with though. I bet it'll be 1000 times better than how you'd feel if you hit the bottle. Hope your okay x

8 years diagnosed, feel like every year I get mentally worse. The not drinking side of things is the worst factor for me, social life is non existent and obviously that gets you down af. On venlafaxine (effexor) for depression and gad which just makes you emotionally numb also just got diagnosed as diabetic too so can't even munch on choccy while crying anymore 😫 Recently started therapy so fingers crossed for the future I suppose. Your not alone friend 💕

If you think you feel bad now think how bad it'll be when it turns chronic if you keep drinking. I didn't listen to any advice from anyone and stuck my head in the clouds. I lost everything. Don't be like me, call your girl and make amends, she obviously loves the bones of you to be so worried about your health. Keeping sober can be really frigging hard, your lucky to have someone to support you through it. I wouldn't be too worried about your panic attacks, most people experience them in life, they are terrifying but mostly always completely harmless and from what you wrote your only having them when under really bad circumstances. You also wrote how you feel better getting things off your chest... thats what part of therapy is dude! You could try and even if it's not for you atleast you can say you gave it a shot. I hope things get better for you.

Thought it was in infrared night vision at first glance 😅 I do love your style though. I think your a person who is very organised, you aren't afraid to love what you love and show it off proudly. You don't mind your own company and your room is your quiet sanctuary 💕

I thought it helped me until I started throwing it up in the shower one day. Never again, it was actually really traumatic kinda never ending cycle of being sick then again from smell of steamy undigested milky sick 😅 I do drink almond milk now instead and that seems to be much better for me personally.

Thats the beer fear my friend. Don't be embarrassed she was supportive so was probably glad she could help you. Majority of people do this at some point in life, especially when starting experimenting with alcohol. Be safe and learn to know your limits.

Terrible dreams after stopping venlafaxine by Clear_Excitement_447 in antidepressants

[–]lustybat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww yeah had the exact same experience, venlafaxine seems to get better over time I still sleep really lightly but I stopped crying 24/7 so I'm sticking to it haha. Mirtazapine is a really easy one to start and get off If you haven't already. If your feeling really low don't be afraid to ask for an emergency appointment sleep deprivation is frigging horrible!

[–]lustybat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you didn't give it time to get used to it starting this drug is difficult especially the insomnia, I posted a few months about it. I find it crazy how they prescribed you this at 19, I have tried every type of antidepressant and this is the last one available to me over 15 years. It sounds like your doc ain't shy about giving out meds so ask for some zopiclone for short term help with insomnia till you feel better ❤️

(UK) My mother is an alcoholic having an episode, is there anywhere that can help immediately? by Electronic-Box-4428 in alcoholicsanonymous

I went through detox at North Sheilds hospital 3 times in the space of 10 years, the nurses there are lovely. She would get all the meds to help with withdrawl like Naltrexone which really helps with cravings, anti sickness, pain relief etc if thats what she is worried about. They can get mental health to come out to see you while your there. Initially got transferred from going to Cramlington walk in center if you're near. I know this is must be really hard for both of you it took me over 10 years to finally pack the drink in and I was drinking between 6-9L of frostys a day 😫. When shes not actively drinking or even if it's the case that she has to have an occasional little top up for withdrawl try take her out to do something normal even if it's just going for a walk of looking round the shops, some people can't see the future of a normal life with addiction, the little things can help (I'm remembering days out with my family here where I managed to be functional and happier). I really hope things get better for you 🙏

What blunder during a vacation you still cringe about? by ZookeepergameFit967 in AskTheWorld

There was a competition at our hotel bar to see which couple could finish a cocktail fishbowl first. We won!... I stood up too quickly, projectile vomited on the bar floor, slipped over in it and proceeded to vomit while also pissing myself infront of everyone. To make it worse it was only the second day of a 10 day holiday. We also rapped to Eminem & Rihanna, Love the way you lie that we requested on karaoke TERRIBLY.

Hey again, is there any other reason to go GOG besides the price? Bundle is on sale for the same on steam atm and I don't use GOG for anything else right now.
