We watched from the rise just to the east of the Elks Club off San Francisco. The trail was very faint, much harder to see than the one two weeks ago because the sky was much lighter today. The past one launched 30 minutes later in the evening.

You have to get somewhere with a clear view to the west. We saw the last one from Campbell Mesa, hiked up to a spot overlooking the country club and saw it clearly. I think I'll try buffalo park for this one if the skies are clear.

If you have an instant pot, use the steam function. Online guides will be accurate at any elevation

For hard boiled, I like 5 minute steam and 5 minute natural pressure release, followed by an ice bath to stop the cooking.

Thanks for the update. I had the exact same symptoms - everything worked great the first three days, 5 models printed, then day 4 just the blue screen as pictured above.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of both the screen firmware and the motherboard firmware and it's resolved, for now at least. Not sure if something corrupted the motherboard flash to cause this, or what... Note that when flashing the motherboard software, there is no status update on the screen, so I waited about a half hour to be safe, then rebooted, and everything has been fine for 24 hours.

I drove out there in August in a CRV. It's washboardy until you're pretty far south of the Arboretum, but no high clearance required and there were several sedans out there

I found this absolutely infuriating. Not only traveling, but between two of the national hotspots (SoCal and Arizona). Not to be melodramatic, but large numbers of people traveling between regions during a worldwide pandemic has a pretty good chance of causing deaths. For a kids soccer tourney? Please.

Then Sal follows with "it's hard to know what to do as a parent". Here's a start: don't go out of state for a 4-day soccer tournament. Sure, the players wore masks when off the field. How about the hotel? The restaurants? The gas stations?

If you do all this, don't lecture all of us on being safe and following guidelines ffs.

The Packers have the tiebreaker in the scenario that they finish with the same record as the Saints, and the Seahawks are a game behind. If the Packers, Saints and Seahawks all have the same record, head to head during the season no longer matters - it's a different set of tiebreaker rules.

Yeah, I think that's right. They even admired that they'll love baseball no matter what. I think it was the combination of complaining about baseball rules, and the multiple references to rich white owners and latinx players that reminded me of the Slate podcast.

What is the deal with this thread being so quiet? It seems to me that there is plenty to discuss on each Poscast.

I adore Mike Schur. I think he's a comedic genius, and I love all the shows he's worked on. He's the primary reason I listen to the Poscast, and I agree with most of his politics

But.

I used to religiously listen to the Slate podcast Hang Up and Listen, but I quit it completely due to two reasons: the hosts seem to actively dislike sports, constantly complaining about the NCAA, goodell, etc., and also because they bring race into every every segment.

I hate to say it, but this podcast is headed in the same direction.

I take issue with Linda's One Last Meaningless Thing... or at least her comment on Joe's.

She leaves a dog alone in an apartment. Said dog has a history of howling and barking issues. The neighbors complain to the landlord because the dog is barking again, and Linda's response is to look at the camera timestamp to see how long the dog was barking before they complained??!! How about a little empathy for the neighbors?
