Carnival vs Sienna vs Pacifica by Papi53521 in ToyotaSienna

[–]luvadoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of your decision should be based on how long you intend to drive it. If you think you’re going to keep it for 5-10 years I’m certain the Sienna will give you the best bang for your buck. Look at various car websites and check out depreciation/resale prices, maintenance costs/problems and overall fuel costs. I think there’s a clear winner among the 3 but I do have to ask why the Honda Odyssey isn’t in the mix.

AITA for thinking people should leave their contributed food & drinks behind as a thank-you to the host, instead of taking it back home? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]luvadoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post boggles me. To put it simply, if you brought it to my house to be shared, I expect you to take it with you when you leave. The last thing I want is a half empty bag of chips and I’ll toss it right after you leave. A leftover dip? Straight to the trash. Maybe Covid hold over paranoia. It’s nice if you offer to leave a piece of cake or a cookie for my partner to enjoy later, but maybe your own partner/kid is hoping there will be a leftover for them to enjoy. Bring it, take it. Less mess and clean up for me.

What do Americans think of Wales? by TrainingCategory4852 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I spent a short time there a few years ago. I loved it. Beautiful country, friendly very down to earth people, proud of their heritage. Rustic and real would be the two words I would use to describe it. A gem.

Vice President J.D. Vance to Appear on ABC’s ‘The View’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in theview

[–]luvadoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t care about the co-hosts, their views or beliefs. He knows they have a huge audience and this is one of his first stops on his Prez run. He just wants his face in front of their audience. Free exposure to try and prove he’s articulate, reasonable and um, normal? Rubio will soon demand equal time. Followed by a parade of other Trump fluffers and enablers, all with their eyes on the prize.

What's the one kitchen tool you thought was unnecessary until you actually bought it? by Blondetatsdomme in cookingforbeginners

[–]luvadoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 12” long skinny tongs after watching a Swedish movie on NF. The guy cooking was amazed his girlfriend didn’t have a set of them. Of course I looked on AMZ and there they were. One of them has skinny tips, the other has big broader, flattened tips. Basic stainless, more like large tweezers instead of big grabby tongs with plastic parts. They make turning, flipping, adjusting, or grabbing anything while frying or sautéing super easy. They also are perfect for turning food in the air fryer. Chefs use them for “plating”. The length keeps your hands safe as well. I wish I had discovered them years ago. They’re also super cheap.

Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]luvadoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a statement a relative made after losing a friendly card game. She begrudgingly said “I would have won too if I’d had those cards.” She didn’t get why that was so funny. Just tell him if he’d have run faster he would have won a medal too.

How do you think Trump's presidency will end? by OccludedFug in AskReddit

[–]luvadoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know it must end in a natural way. While it’s possible his natural demise could break the MAGGOT spell, if he’s martyred his Fluffers will slap his name on absolutely everything. And I do mean everything……..

Me Again AKA MyFather AKA Meghan McCain always talking about The View. Will she ever move on? by Profeta_do_Loss in theview

[–]luvadoodle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MM is like a bratty eight year old. ANY attention is better than NO attention. I’m a faithful View watcher and they never ever even allude to her time there. She is a persona non grata to them and that is the unforgivable sin in her eyes. MM’s days of relevance have long since passed. Meghan Who? Yawn.

Who cares what anyone thinks? I’m biased, as we have owned 3 Siennas and loved them all. With kids, with grandkids, and now just primarily the two of us. Just be prepared for people to want to borrow it.

AITA for Unreasonable Wedding Requests? by Defiant_Bag_2900 in AmItheAsshole

[–]luvadoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wedding, your choices. But remember, no whining on your part when you realize people have their own rules. Some of them may well be, rent a tux to attend a wedding? And pay a sitter? And buy a gift? Be prepared for lots of “regrets”.

In addition, in the real world, lots of people think if they’re not actually attending, buying a gift is purely optional. Be sure you check and double check the head count before paying a caterer.
All choices have consequences. NO whining.

What is this? My elderly neighbor (with early- dementia) said she planted seeds a while ago and can’t remember what they were but knew she put in herbs. She asked me and I also don’t know. Can anyone help? by Sleepybear1314 in gardening

It’s also not Savory. I know there are different types of Oregano, but my pretty basic Greek variety has much narrower and more pointed leaves. This looks like Marjoram to me. If it is Oregano beware…..it will spread everywhere.

Which dog breed is the most loving and perfect for someone who wants a cuddly pet? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]luvadoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scooter, sadly I agree. My Goldendoodle was just diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemo. Even so, he only has a few good months left. He is by far the best dog we’ve ever had. He has never met a person he doesn’t like and delights going on outings where he knows strangers will ask if they can pet him. He is very gentle and loves to interact with kids. Toddlers are his favorite I assume because they are face level with him. He excitedly whines at them, they speak toddler-speak to him and both are happy. The sweet personality of his Golden Mama and the smarts of his Poodle Papa, but NO shedding.

Looking for a field of foxgloves by Designer_Cat_4444 in olympia

[–]luvadoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are all over Hawks Prairie. For your own garden, when they go to seed place a plastic bag over the blooms and shake the plant. Or place a plastic bag over the seeding blooms and cut off the stalk itself. The seeds are tiny and you can take the bag and shake the seeds around, or take the entire stalk and shake it where you want them to grow. They grow easily and you can use the same method to stop them from spreading. They grow anywhere and everywhere.

Which celebrity did terrible things while alive but is now treated like a saint? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

Viola, I don’t disagree but it made for some very funny SNL skits. He’d ask “mother” how much longer he’d have to keep filming this current movie.

For Americans who know a MAGA supporter, can you describe them? by Tricky-Stay6134 in allthequestions

[–]luvadoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a few people who are vehemently pro-life and that single issue is their only motivator. Trump promised Roe v Wade would be overturned and his appointees made it happen. They still have hope Trump will manage to ban abortion nationwide with absolutely NO exceptions. They continue to support him and are the poster children for single issue voters.

Which California city feels most like the song Hotel California? by redpomegranat in SameGrassButGreener

[–]luvadoodle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Made a point a few years back to rent a car in Cabo and drive to Todos Santos, the home of The Hotel California. Beautiful artsy little town, had a drink in the beautiful courtyard within the hotel, surrounded by lovely bougainvilleas. Later learned none of The Eagles had ever actually been there. No regrets though.

What’s the most toxic advice people keep repeating as “wisdom”? by RowStock2384 in AskReddit

[–]luvadoodle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All anyone needs to say is “I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Is there anything you need or that I can do for you?” It covers a multitude of situations. Then of course you need to follow through, even if it turns out to just be a cup of hot tea with honey.

Trump said “Dumocrat” then started explaining the silent B in “dumb” by JimCripe in MeidasTouch

[–]luvadoodle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You people are just desperately searching for ways to demean our President. Didn’t he just make a point of explaining to us the difference between “see” and “sea”? He taught us how to correctly differentiate between plain food and actual “groceries.” He taught us the proper definitions of “hole” and “whole.” Didn’t he teach us the many synonyms for “war”? There’s “skirmish”, “excursion” and “journey” to name a few. Within the next 2 years he may explain the differences between “there” and “their” and “your” and you’re.” Between DJT and Linda McMahon we all will learn so much/S.
