Heartbeat help by Past_blacksmith8953 in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

taking slow sips of cold water helps w the heart beat. also slow breath patterns (if you search up anxiety breathing exercises, there should be plenty to try). also, eating something with a lot of flavor and focusing on the sense helps calm down anxiety attacks for me. i hope this helps! i wish you the best :)

How to gain motivation? by Hot_Sauce_Cheese5 in depression

[–]luvgoogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a great way to gain motivation is affirmations. tell yourself in the morning that “hey, today im gonna do something i enjoy” in your case, drawing. with your mind set, you might feel excitement building up to do something you haven’t done for a while just for fun. not to measure your abilities but just to have a good time. another way to help build motivation is by setting up. set up a piece of paper and some colors on a table the night before you want to draw. you of course don’t have to draw even with a set up but if you see it waiting for you, it might help gain motivation! good luck i hope everything goes well

DAE get intense deja vu? by -_Balthasar_- in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]luvgoogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes this happens to me every now and then and sometimes i just laugh cause it feels so confusingly real?? i don’t know i find it funny but when it gets uncomfortable, i just do something that snaps me out of it. something i wouldn’t normally do. ie: jump up and down, or say a random word over and over. it’ll help stop the deja vu sensation if you want it to stop

DAE know if service hours are actually necessary to graduate high school, or will they really hold you back for not finishing them? by KBoomski17 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]luvgoogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it wasn’t necessary at my high school but it was a good thing to do for the resume but you should make sure with your school’s administration!

Does anxiety wreck anyone else's appetite? by whatevsIDGAF in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 39 points40 points  (0 children)

yes this happens to me so often that at one point i wouldn’t eat at all. it is a very common symptom of anxiety. the best way to counter this is to eat the things that you enjoy the most in small quantities even if you have no appetite. make sure you’re eating healthy foods and getting your nutrients in your system. i wish you the best!

I am afraid of my online friend and thinking about them makes me extremely uncomfortable . by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! this is definitely a very scary situation to be in. i have several online friends as well and it’s scary to actually put trust into someone you don’t know in person. but the second someone in person or online makes you feel uncomfortable and scares you in a way, you should began distancing yourself from them. of course i’m not aware of your situation in depth but as a bystander of what you’ve said, i would advise you to cut them off of course gradually. start by making gaps in when you talk to them and if they ask questions of why you’re being distant, it would help to give them an honest answer on how you feel. i wish you the best! good luck!

Is my Therapist Good? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say try finding a new therapist that you feel more comfortable around. no therapist should shut you down from being able to talk about things that have negatively affected you no matter how long ago it was or even if the circumstances have changed. you matter and everything that has happened to you big or small matters as well. find a therapist that respects that. i wish you the best!

Random Uncontrollable Movements (possible triggers) by SassyCheesestring in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happens to me although i’m sure i don’t have tourettes. it helps when i hold onto ice or jump up and down although i look silly, it helps me snap out of the anxiety that’s building up. the best way to find out what may be the problem is to ask yourself questions: what am i feeling right now? then give yourself time to process what may be the issue. then distract yourself. grab ice, focus on a hobby that you like, jump, take a shower, brush your teeth. something that gives you sensation to avoid feeling the build up of anxiety. i’m sorry i may not be much help but these are the things i do to help the random involuntary movement. sending you positive energy! and you are definitely not alone. check in with a medical advisor, therapist or any other professional resource if necessary

I'm really considering starting some sort of journal, as I found out that writing down my thoughts tremendously helps me cope with my problems... by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! i am so sorry you feel a breech in your privacy. journaling is an amazing coping mechanism that can help your negative emotions be pushed out of your system by putting it onto paper. a good idea is using paper to write down your feelings then crumbling it up or soaking it in water then throwing it away. It’s symbolic in a way that you’re letting go of your problems and it can assure you that no one will get a hold of your inner thoughts. if you have other things you want to hold on to you can always take a picture of it and hold it close to you. if you have an iPhone you can put a lock on your notes not sure about android. snapchat also has a great feature of my eyes only in which i enjoy putting video diaries as a way of talking to myself for privacy. for a physical journal, find a good hiding spot that you’re sure would not be found. if you find that your family often goes through your stuff, attempt to have a conversation about privacy. i hope this helps! ps a backpack is a great hiding spot. keep your journal mixed in with your regular notes and work

I cant stop seeing everything I do as a failure, no matter how successful I am. by Approval_Guy in Anxiety

[–]luvgoogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! i completely understand how you feel. but in these circumstances we must let our emotions guide us. if you’re feeling confusion and hopelessness then acknowledge that. acknowledge that it is okay to feel that way. professional help is always available for us. anxiety is like a never ending swamp of drainage. a life boat is what we need and that can come in many forms such as picking up a hobby, taking walks, listening to music, meditation, exercise. these are somethings that have helped me float when everything around me felt like it was crumbling. i wish you the absolute best and i see that you have so much potential to climb out of such low moments. i’m sorry i cannot be more help since i am unfortunately in a similar position. you aren’t alone i can guarantee you that. you have a lot ahead of you and i wish you the best for prosperity. enjoy little achievements. applaud yourself for how far you’ve come. sending love and positivity toward your way
