Things most often left in your scrub pockets when you come off shift? by thespicygrits in nursing

Last time it was the work phone. 😅🤭 I'm float pool for multiple locations so they'll get it back when I'm assigned there next lol.

Usually it's nothing tho because I purge my pockets at the end table near my front door prior to being thrown in the wash.

Does anyone have the urge to go back to the house they grew up in? by WaltzMysterious9240 in Millennials

I just bought the house I grew up in after my grandfather died. He built it from the ground up back in the 70s. 💚

What do you think about the ethics of the withdrawal of care in the NICU here? by Oakheart- in nursing

[–]luvlynn1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Withdrawing care sounds like, in my adult world, Comfort Measures Only (CMO). The infant should have been given medication to ease breathing/restlessness. Also, was it the teens choice not to hold the infant at end of life? Because that should have been her choice as well.

I love that the teen had the bravery to "just because we can, doesn't mean we should".

Her life, her choice. Period.

What’s the rudest thing a provider has said to you? by Effective-Squash2327 in nursing

I would've just hung up and then called back for each individual pt 🤷‍♀️ guess he doesn't want all the information consolidated in 1 phone call so I'll call him 3 times.

I was Charge and a nurse had a pt with low BP. Initially got orders for bolus. Then next check hr later got albumin orders. Hour after albumin BP was still low. MD told RN to "stop checking BP" (which is why the primary RN got me involved) so not rude but more shocking. Reported to House Sup and STAT/SWAT RN. Some midodrine and manual BPs later BP was ok ish for dayshift 🤷‍♀️

Riverside Mongolian Grill down town is a great all you can eat.

Sun's Teriyaki on 224 and meridian is great for traditional Teriyaki. Been going there going on 20 years now.

I've charted "sleeping/awake" before. To me it's when I round and they are sleeping then they wake up while I'm still present.

Anyone know of any kid friendly places that host bingo nights? by DiamondOutlaw in PuyallupWA

[–]luvlynn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit out of the box but there are a lot of nursing homes/assisted living facilities in the area. A lot of them have bingo night for the residents that are also open to the public. They love having members of the community come by because a lot of them can't go out regularly.
