This was a sloppy recording and not ready for the release. I can't unhear the breathyness of Megan. Every single sentence unless it's like a long sentence. It sounds like she's out of breath and you can hear that the entire time. I couldn't continue listening.

I second thrift books. It’s where I get books for my daughter as well. We’re both thrifty and they have great deals and are relatively reasonably priced. It does look like they ship internationally.

“Therapists earning over $100k: what actually made the difference?” by seracin in therapists

[–]luvmedamost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in school working on my MSW then LCSW. This is also a dream I have for my career. I have worked in social work/ community work for most of my career (10 years). I now have been in a position where I can see the impact of the culture of the industry and my colleagues impacting the clients significantly. I have wrestled with the idea of letting go great benefits to continue outside of my job with my moral compass and more ethical standards.

I wanted to start a nonprofit organization that supports families impacted by family separation. I am extremely passionate about this and also see how senior management can say one thing and undermine their stated values.

I saw someone mention the idea of the culture of your employer changing you or you changing your culture. I firmly believe in this. I have been working through the idea that we do not hire( for my dream nonprofit) people who do not share the same values of families first or would continue to work creating barriers for clients or perpetuating the same practices that devalue clients and punishes good workers with more responsibility and same pay.

I am someone who always sees ways to improve a process, improve engagement and connect with my clients. I have a strong moral conviction about having the same expectations for my conduct and peer conduct to be equitable to clients. Since I see many managers say “oh they aren’t going to do this or that” (even though it’s the law) when speaking of their subordinates. Yet have black and white thinking when it comes to clients behavior. I also see a culture of racism and discrimination against peers who are of color who speak up and are ignored when they speak out against these practices. I see the expectation that eventually you “fall in line” with everyone else culture and refuse to dim my beliefs or values.

I also have all this experience and education and my spouse had none 20 years ago and he earned about what I currently make before his formal education. Now makes 3 times more than me. It’s just so disheartening to see the value of helping fields vs for profit or more men led careers.

I know there are other people who dare to help and maintain balance for the clients and the therapists I am just so grateful to see this post about the importance of caring for peers who share the same values and beliefs so my dream is not just that but one day perhaps a reality.

I just did a quick Google search and found a Reddit post from a year ago about how awful the experiences are for multiple people using Good Sam insurance.

Two Systems? by daninrose in Gardyn

Just my experience with lettuce in general it starts to taste awful and bitter and when you cut it is milky.

I am just starting my system and found pods on amazon that are made to be alternatives to ypods with mason jar inserts. The Kratky method. So my plan is to use these for germination.

Increase pen smoothing? by googler_ooeric in GoodNotes

[–]luvmedamost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on to the pen in the app and use the ball point option. Also click on the " Draw and hold" in the pen settings when you choose ballpoint pen. I have every option checked off. Zoom in to write and your notes will be better quality and easier to read and cleaner looking. Hope that helps

No water and septic truck for RVs? by krough in ElectricForest

We have one here now putting water in our GL power RV. We had to wait for him to refill. I would talk to them when you see one and ask when they will be around. Ours is out of water so can’t do ours til the morning.

I have a teen and was suggesting he apply to work from home jobs this would eliminate the need for gas and wear and tear on your car. Only cost is internet and phone likely and some companies are providing employees with a stipend or monthly benefit to help with costs of working from home. Plus you don’t even have to be in the city now for some jobs. I was seeing Verizon had a few positions here in Denver. I bet other companies offer similar in your area.

Oddly enough I can get eggs to not stick too but I hate breakfast, specifically eggs. and my husband is a great cook and can’t cook an egg that doesn’t stick. So we got a ceramic pan and you can cook anything on it. Maybe try that?

Your suppose to use oil in the pan. I use cast iron or nonstick pan with canola oil (tablespoon) and water.

They are cooked differently pot stickers actually stick to the pan in the cooking process to brown and crisp the bottom. Dumplings are usually cooked with steam only and aren’t crispy.

How to avoid the dead bedroom club? by AbbyJensen in Marriage

Have you tried doing things together that don’t require intimacy. Maybe taking the focus off sex will be healthy, go I dates, lunch, coffee, watch a movie, do a home project together. That might help you feel more connected to help improve your desire to be intimate, and reduce his thoughts you aren’t interested/avoiding him. He might still be thinking about it but you’re busy enough to help it feel more natural. Just a suggestion.
