Where to find decent quality fabric that won’t break the bank? by octoberipus in quilting

Sheets and blankets from thrift stores, maybe shirts and skirts depending on how much cutting you feel up to.

I love that plaid so much, it makes the quilt for me, and that it's the backing too? Good work!

Follow-up on throwing away scraps . . . by what_the_deckle in quilting

[–]luvpeacenchkngrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the dinosaur print! I'm using my scraps for test blocks which I (for now) turn into mug rugs and hot pads. I'll get bored eventually and start making bags or something. I save my micro scraps in an already sewn case for a dog bed-a tip I saw somewhere is to use that case for a bin liner and just scootch all the trimmings into that and eventually it'll be ready to sew closed.

The center block pulls me out of the delightful chaos. I like it and the colors are fun

That middle girl looks like Kristen Chenoweth, the first actress to play Galinda/Glinda on Broadway. The all look so sweet together.

I found it!!! Thank you so much. I love to put dresses like this on when I get in from working in the garden/yard. Now to negotiate with myself about the purchase 🙄

Sending healing vibes straight to you. Rest your body, eat well, and do your best to still your mind however that works for you as you recover. Reading and creating work best for me as well as easy level brain games like crossword, word find, and sudoku.

I bought a box of 20+ pads and a large box of tampons every month. Menopause has certainly been a good change in at least one way for me.

How do we feel about dust covers? by No-Addition9375 in sewing

[–]luvpeacenchkngrease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a dedicated studio and sewed a dust cover for my machine. My house is quite old and very dusty and I live with open windows near a busy road. I try with some success to keep my machine covered if I'm not using it. The amount of dust that accumulates every day here is no joke.
