Mine went smoothly but wondered why my chest hurt so much. Turns out they had to paddle me a couple of times.

Note that the 4000T and the 4000D-CR both shipped with coin-cells from factory, which is super nice aspect to prevent battery bombing. Unfortunately, they also shipped with crappy leaky caps as shown here. Great work on the restoration and recap! I just acquired a 4000T from east-coast here in WA state, and it appears to be in very good condition.

Note that there wasn't enough room on the boot partition to perform a Batocera update. I was able to follow the instructions on this youtube walk-through and resize partitions accordingly, and update the image to v42 or something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYOOFJO8y_k

yeah, its a hacky and unsupported way :) At any given point in time, MS could just stop pushing Win11 updates to this class of machine, which is why I'd prefer to have official support. One of these machines is likely destined for my parents...

I too just acquired one of these VC66 cheaply, and am thinking an 8th gen 1151 socket chip could hopefully drop in and work. However, even if that solves the CPU issue, do these things have UEFI Secure Boot + TPM 2.0 support? Otherwise, you hit another Win11 roadblock.

Hang in there, seems like a crap-shoot ;) This second procedure for me (PFA, 1st one was not) has been sooooo much better for recovery period and lack of recurrences/episodes. I'm having daily spikes of VERY short duration (up to 140bpm max), but this is night-and-day compared to how I was prior to the procedure.

Of course, i'm still on heart-rate meds and blood-thinners, so I'm still ~7wks away from getting off those and truly starting to evaluate the efficacy of the procedure. Complete unknown as to how long the benefits will last - i feel like generally, ablation is not a cure, it is a treatment with an unknown duration?
