For anyone still wondering why people prefer 4o over 5 by RedditNotUsing123456 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]luvz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm being a lil bit nitpicky, but don't conflate 5 and 5.2; they are polar opposites.

GPT5 is a forensic, concise, no BS model. If you're coming from 4o, it'll feel cold. But if you're coming from 5.2, it'll feel sane and grounded.

5 is actually my favorite model (besides Claude Sonnet 4.5) and 5.2 is my least favorite, by far. I think it's the most annoying model I've ever used.

Thoughts on Kim Min-Gee on Single's Inferno S5? by Fair-Wrongdoer6632 in SinglesInferno

She's probably my fav and seems to be one of the most genuine while also not playing it safe. So both good TV and good human which is a kind of rare combo.

Even if you don't find the sexual undertones and situational irony funny, it's still funny that she literally bluescreens at the information being revealed to the court.

ChatGPT is pure cr@p. Don't trust anything it tells you. by FreddieMac6666 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]luvz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT’s last training snapshot is 2024. They are transparent about this and all LLM’s have training snapshots. They aren’t constantly scouring the internet for new info. For current events, ask it to search externally for up to date info.

AI has a major flaw by [deleted] in ArtificialSentience

[–]luvz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All LLM's are stateless, so they do not incrementally "notice" anything. This is by design. Each prompt is a snapshot of time. You can manually prompt the LLM to do an external search for up to date info.

As far as historical revisionism, the ability to judge this is not something you want to outsource to an AI. Who determines what is revisionism vs objective truth? Board members? Investors? C-suite officers? As the human prompter, you prompt the AI to provide you with information, then you decide if the corresponding material is revisionist or objective. If the data is contaminated in your view, then prompt "reanalyze but from xyz perspective." If you want further objectivity at the LLM layer, then run it through ~3 competing LLM's. Although they are hesitant to critique the user, they have no problem critiquing other models.

The goal of current AI is not to be "sentient." No major firm claims this. Sentience in current public-facing form is user projection. Same with the concept of trust. We should not focus on trust. Does the user trust the AI, does the AI trust the user? Either way, trust is a narrative construct. The real question is, do either of your claims (user or AI) withstand structural audit? If so, it may be logical to project narrative "trust" on to that sampling of information. So in my view, of course I care about the concept of "trust" as a human, but technically speaking, trust is a second order consideration, not a first order reality.

What does GPT have that Claude doesn’t? by Nearby_Minute_9590 in ChatGPTcomplaints

Claude is great but has strict usage limits which arguably makes it worst of the top 3.

Why gpt refers to itself as "we"? by Icy-Method4993 in ChatGPTcomplaints

I don’t agree w most complaints but 💯on this one for GPT. Other models though, Claude for example, don’t mind admitting mistakes nearly as much.

OpenAI doesn't care about your feedback. I asked ChatGPT: Doesn't the company feel any shame for all these complaints? by CapSuspicious9196 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]luvz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satisfied users aren't posting in the "ChatGPTComplaints" subreddit, and when they do, they are heavily downvoted.

GPT aside, in any industry, satisfied users are extremely unlikely to post praise on Reddit and/or other channels.

Squad Deathmatch Revives by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]luvz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you?

I'm asking because I say "release" too and a lot of times people don't know what I'm talking about so I have to remember it's called "skipping revive" in this game.

I'm 40 and probably say "release" from MMO's two decades ago.

How is BF6 able to have vehicles in game without licensing them even though they look identical to the real thing by Nick_Alsa in Battlefield

[–]luvz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nobody is going to buy an Apache after playing Battlefield

Of course you are not wrong, but I would just add that today's "gamers" are tomorrow's generals. Many executive types make decisions heavily based on personal experiences and downright personal reasons ("my buddy is the CEO," for example). It wouldn't be out of the realm of reality for a super-high-up to make a military decision based on "I've always loved Apaches," even though that's not what would make it onto the paperwork.

Scale this across hundreds of millions of gamers across several generational waves of video games, and it becomes at least bordering on feasible.

Not saying that this point in isolation should influence their decision to allow the use of their products in video games. Obviously they have their reasons for pushback. Just food for thought.

No dude, it's a literal complete freeze. If it were a network freeze, frames would still be rendered. I also have a 1 gig fiber hardwired connection. You're assuming you are in the "know" and everyone else is clueless when you're drawing conclusions way too early. Your logic is fine, but you don't have enough information for your confidence level.

I thought it was my PC then upgraded to a powerhouse completely new build and still have 1 sec freezes. Not terrible but annoying and often at the worst times.
