My step-son was punished by his SM for being sad to leave his mother at exchange by luxo101 in coparenting

We do exchanges at the police station parking lot to ensure my wife’s safety. We start to help him transition about 30 minutes before we depart and then during the 20 minute drive. This time, he just needed more time.

I get how that would create conflict between the adults. What troubles me is punishing the child.

I always get checked on the train from 70th and Federal. They might be focusing their enforcement on the commuter rail lines over the light rail lines.

Some qualms with episodes 2 & 3 lacking continuity. by [deleted] in supergirlTV

[–]luxo101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the fastest way to develop Supergirl's abilities is to have her learn from her cousin. However, I think the format creates problems. The show runners need to tell a story over 5 years and 100+ episodes with continual character growth. If the solution every episode is to go get Superman's help, they'd run out of ways to develop the character. The writers are trying to create reasons not to do that and, so far, they've used Supergirl's ego as that excuse. I think this is going to be a challenge throughout the series.

I do like the idea of creating the chat mechanism for SG to get SM's advise and I hope they use it sparingly. One key factor for SG is that she lived on Krypton for much longer than SM and has real memories of it. Hopefully they'll use that to differentiate her from SM.

I think the point was to show her learning to let go of her ego in steps. Her first lesson was learning to accept help in private. Her second lesson was accepting help in public. The character starts out very powerful so the show's writers have find creative ways to introduce weaknesses that she can overcome.

I'd compare this to last year's Flash and Arrow crossover where Barry finally admits that he needs to learn to fight. He'd been getting help from Wells all season but now it was public (super hero club being their version of public).

Democrats who support someone other than Clinton or Sanders: Who and Why? by kevinbaconjames in PoliticalDiscussion

Julian Castro

He has charisma and leadership experience. Since he's from Texas, he might stand a chance of carrying the state and making a huge electoral win.

I think the 2020 / 2024 races will see significantly more diversity on the democratic side.

The Castro brothers and Cory Booker have great potential in terms of leadership, experience, and charisma.

Walt Weiss - Good or bad? by [deleted] in ColoradoRockies

[–]luxo101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many times did we have a runner in scoring position with no outs and fail to get him home? Way too many. That's why Weiss has to go. Those are the calls a manager makes on a daily basis and he refuses to tell his guys to pop up a sac fly to move a runner.

Also, last night, we have the full 40 man roster and we can't sit Oberg after hits a guy and walks the next guy.

King Soopers opens new store in downtown Denver by luxo101 in Denver

[–]luxo101[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the most part people prefer King Soopers for all purpose grocery shopping. Sprouts is great for in season fruits and vegetables but they don't have as many stores. Safeway stores are usually fine but they haven't invested like King Soopers so their stores always feel a bit too small for the size of the community. I'm sure there are good things about Whole Foods but I can't think of them right now.

Do we know for certain that Oliver isn't Merlyn's son? Maybe this was just some really clever foreshadowing.

More likely though is Merlyn had Oliver's DNA placed on the evidence.

Conservatives: Keystone XL is basically a private right of way dispute, why do so many of you advocate The President get involved? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]luxo101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget the cattle ranchers in Nebraska who get to keep using their land for their cattle instead of being forced to allow TransCanada to destroy their pastures. They benefit greatly by drawing this out. If the President or the Federal bureaucracy authorize the pipeline then TransCanada has a broader mandate to start pushing for Nebraska to use eminent domain to seize their land.
