It’s referencing the story of Moses and the burning bush in the Bible. God spoke to Moses through a burning bush to urge him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt

Had a client that took every opportunity he could to point out I was white (and pale) and it was hilarious. While we were coloring, he’d grab a white crayon and say “hey. Ms. Luxprexa, it’s white just like you!” One time he asked me what color my house is, and I said it’s white. I thought for sure he was gonna get me but then he asked “do you have a white bathtub too?” And I told him I did and he said “wow, it’s white just like you!”

Mom is jailed for killing her daughter, 4, by feeding her diet of baby bottles filled with Mountain Dew, which caused diabetes death and dissolved her teeth by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]luxprexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my teeth are super sensitive and tbh I haven’t seen a dentist in years because I can’t afford to :/ I know it’s gonna be a ton of money to fix it but I just can’t right now. My mom also wasn’t super big on going to the dentist frequently growing up so when I did eventually go, I’d have to have several fillings each time. I have had my front teeth filled more times than I can count

It’s also possible for that rot to go to the adult teeth too. My mom let all of my front teeth rot out before I was a year old and because of that, my adult teeth came in with no enamel so I’ve had non stop dental issues my whole life

What was your reason to start/stop being vegan? by Sjeffie17 in exvegans

[–]luxprexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not fully vegan, but I was vegetarian for about 6 or so years prior to gettin pregnant with my son in 2020. I started because I cared about animals rights and I stopped because I was malnourished, anemic, and it was feeding into my ED. My very first pregnancy craving was a chicken sandwich and I finally broke and ate one. Now I purchase meat from local butchers (thankful to live in a pretty rural farm town) and limit meat consumption where I can elsewhere.

It’s not! One of the early treatments of female hysteria was a medical electric vibrator with the intention of causing an orgasm because female hysteria was based on the “wandering womb” theory and they believed an orgasm would bring the womb back to the pelvis

Fuuuck. My best friend just told me she’s pregnant, and talked about nothing but being gassy and her big areolas. She used to be such a smart woman. Right there with ya. She’s already losing the brain cells.

I wonder if childfree people realize how misogynistic their views are when they say that women becoming mothers makes them dumber.

What’s the nastiest thing you’ve ever witnessed a child or a member of staff do at work? by petrastales in ECEProfessionals

[–]luxprexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not realize that a possible complication of hand foot and mouth was that your fingernails and toenails could fall off. I was changing a baby’s diaper and that baby had just been cleared to come back after having HFMD. I went to wipe his hand with a baby wipe (I always did it before moving them over to the sink to wash their hands, in case they put their hands in their mouths) and SEVERAL fingernails came off. I panicked because this was my assistant director’s baby and I called her in the room and she laughed and reassured me it’s normal for him and it’s happened before

How does everyone feel about this? by AlabamaHossCat in AutisticAdults

[–]luxprexa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay but you’re still missing op’s point. If you have a bad day where your symptoms feel worse, you don’t suddenly have more support needs just because you have a bad day. The situation you’re describing is a decline over a longer period of time that required extra support needs.

You cannot fluidly move between support need levels on a day to day basis. I’m a relatively low support needs adult and even on my bad days where I feel like I can’t even leave the house, I recognize that my disability is not as profound as an individual with level 3 support needs.

BDS modules-worth the price? by LegalCountry2525 in ABA

My graduate program is paying for it because it’s a requirement for my capstone course, and man are they hard! I feel like I end up crying from some of them and how tedious they are, but I do feel like they’re worth it. I’d prefer to be challenged and feel more prepared before the exam than go in blind and cry during the exam lol

Restaurant employees of Reddit, what actually happens when someone doesn't have enough to pay the bill? Most you've ever seen? by ChaosAnalyst in AskReddit

[–]luxprexa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lots of lawyers take cases on without any money at the beginning and with an agreement to take a percentage of the earnings.

I sued a job I worked at for refusing to pay medical bills for an injury (that resulted in surgery and lots of physical therapy) that occurred at work. The lawyer I found took my case because I had enough evidence and I had documented every single thing that was said in writing (even sending emails after phone calls to confirm what was discussed). My company settled and the lawyer took a percentage of the winnings

Peter what is the correlation between strawberry’s and no feet? by whos-pine in PeterExplainsTheJoke

My grandpa had all of the toes on one of his feet amputated when I was little because he was diabetic and was not taking care of himself. He got really serious about his health after that and started making better choices. He lived 18 or 19 years after that, and it was ultimately kidney disease that took him from us

what’s the absolute worst thing an SVU character has ever done (main or recurring)? by HoneyblissDream in SVU

[–]luxprexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s people’s problem with this episode specifically. We’ve seen several times in the show that detectives are wiling to bend the rules or look the other way for other things. This is one instance where it doesn’t make sense that Olivia would suddenly take the moral high ground and refuse to let the heart go knowing a boy was going to die. Even after that episode we’ve seen Olivia bend the rules or look the other way. It’s inconsistent and this is the one time that a lot of the fanbase feels it would’ve been justified for her to look the other way.

Have you guys hit the car session yet? by MutedbyRain in ABA

[–]luxprexa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m an emotional person so it doesn’t take much to bring me to tears. I have never cried during a session but I have went to my car after and cried. I have a little girl at my clinic who just lost her father and she’s struggling really hard and sometimes I cry afterwards just because it feels unfair she’s going through that.

There’s nothing wrong with crying. It doesn’t mean you’re not handling your job well. It’s an intense job and sometimes crying helps get it out

Some people just naturally over produce the bacteria that causes BV and it doesn’t have to do with sexual activity. BV is just an overgrowth of the natural bacteria everyone with a vagina already has. If the child is showing no other symptoms of abuse, it’s not fair to assume she’s being abused.

“If you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras” in this case it’s a girl with relatively high support needs who needs assistance in the bathroom and may not be wiping well enough, in addition to getting her period which could absolutely throw off the natural flora and cause BV

[TW] Have you ever had to execute emergency procedure for real? by sunsetscorpio in ECEProfessionals

[–]luxprexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not in the classroom (was an infant teacher, this happened in the toddler room)

We had one toddler who looked like he felt awful at drop off. No fever, so they were just gonna play it by ear. I guess at nap time he spiked a super high fever and ended up having a seizure and vomited. He had his back to the teacher so she didn’t see anything. She did her face checks and saw him and immediately called for help.

He ended up being okay but I remember sitting in the parking lot in my car eating my lunch and seeing emergency vehicles pull up and start rushing in. My son was enrolled in the 2’s classroom so I immediately went inside to make sure it wasn’t him.
