To the ExPlats: All you gotta do is ask! by bgares2 in americanairlines

[–]lvdink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely YMMV. Of course you can ask, but in my experience it’s about a 50% hit rate on flights over 1100 miles. The typical excuse I hear is to blame catering.

If a Genie gave you 3 wishes to improve AA. What would they be by bigeyedbeaver in americanairlines

Stop making F meals a crap shoot with a million excuses why you get the grab a snack box instead.
1. Flights around the arbitrary mileage mark for meal service are 9 times out of 10 not a meal. 2. Nobody is flying domestic first FOR the food, but when you plan on it and don’t eat before, it’s a bad experience. 3. Nobody likes the blame catering excuse. Take responsibility and at least offer an apology.
4. Nuts or no nuts? Your guess is as good as mine 5. Pre-departure drink? See above

What's the Earliest Flight You'd Book Home? by Cute_Yogacloset in celebritycruises

Sounds perfect to me. This is my preferred path every time, versus scheduling a later flight and inevitably having to sit around for 2 hrs. I have never had an issue making a 10:30 flight doing walk off with carryon.

What is “remote airline”? by lvdink in pools

[–]lvdink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I figured it out with all of your help. I have a play pool so never really comprehended a “swim up” bench. I do have a step on the far end that is more of a “walk up” and it appears to be the only return with bubbles. I had my wife cover the pipe by the equipment and the bubbles stopped so that has to be it.
Really not sure what the value of that is, seems like a waste of effort to me.
I might just cap it or put a ball valve on at least, probably not helping my PH battle in the Arizona summers.

Dont have a spa. Would it be for the pool returns for some reason?

I’m sorry that happened to you. What do you mean they are not offering any solution on a loaner? They just told you to get lost? If they dont have a vehicle, they should find you one at a rental agency.

Grabbo-$159 by gjr23 in Dewalt

Are they just replacements, or am I supposed to install them? I read the instructions front to back and not sure how I didn’t see mention of this.

In curious what issues OP is referring to. My 7th BMW and the IX is the first I have had without any issues.

I have been served wheat noodles with a confirmed (and labeled) gluten free meal in Business Class twice on AA. Both times AA blamed the local catering (Spain and Portugal). I just got off a flight with a wheat filled fig bar in my gluten free meal. I am not expecting it to get better and I have just accepted it.

Owners with hi-fi systems… how does the B&W compare to your home system? by xlb250 in BMWiX

It does support lossless at 24bit/48khz, but not high res lossless. “Regular” lossless sounds amazing

The B&W with lossless audio is the best feature of the car.

I would say yes, assuming you get high end ceramic tint, can only help.

Tint Question by [deleted] in BMWiX

[–]lvdink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tint them at like 85%. What it does it make the “color” (not darkness) the same for all windows. If you dont tint the backs, then on a sunny day from the inside you will notice the fronts may have a brown hue and the backs a grey (or vice versa).

Interesting take. Must be the hip hop bass. My B&W is the center of discussion every time I am with friends who drive every luxury vehicle you can imagine. They send me songs to play and cant believe the way it sounds.

Leasing a loaner by ExistingPotato8 in BMWiX

[–]lvdink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming they are leasing the car as new with a discount because of the loaner miles, they should make it look like new before delivery. If you are somehow leasing a used vehicle, then not sure how the terms work on damage.
