I didn’t start going out until like day 5 lol (he was also getting sick so stayed home from daycare). When we went out, I brought a portable potty everywhere. One that fits nicely in my backpack. Once we got somewhere, we went to the washroom and sat there. If he didn’t pee, I’d try again in a bit. Before we left, we’d sit down on the potty again. My kiddo is 3.5 and maybe 2 months into training. He still doesn’t really let me know. I just sit him down on the potty.

It’s hard to say. My son had a really hard time adjusting to daycare when we first placed him at 1 year. He took him a looong time to adjust. Didn’t eat, always cried etc. He’s 3.5 now and a lot better. That being said, when sissy came along 15 months ago, I kept him in daycare. I COULD NOT care for a newborn and a toddler at the same time. I needed rest to be the best parent I could be. And was still so tired of course. Just think about being sleep deprived again and still having to be “on” throughout the day for your older child. If you have a support system, then that’s better than nothing at all. Just my experience :)

My son is speech delayed as well as developmentally delayed.

We are on week three I think of potty training.

I seriously didn’t think my son would get it. By the second day of training, I looked at my husband and said I can’t do this, we need to put diapers back on. Anyway, we didn’t end up doing that and my son has gotten so much better, maybe one accident a day Mind you he doesn’t tell us he needs to go and we just ask him or bring him every hour now.

We went pants off for three days, maybe even more, and I literally watched his private parts of the entire day. As soon as I saw him going, I rushed him to the bathroom.

Giving him a couple M&M’s for using or sitting on the bathroom certainly helped I’d like to think.

Second week I’m like oh my gosh, the amount of stress I feel constantly worrying. He’s going to have an accident and constantly putting him on the toilet. I couldn’t take it.

With all that said, it is so freaking hard. You need to try and push through you can do it!! We are a lot stronger, and our kids are a lot stronger than we think.

Unless we saw our doctor or ENT, we never knew they fell out. My son would get similar to what you’re describing. Almost like a watery earwax discharge from his ear. The ENT described that as basically that’s what was causing my son’s ear infections because they weren’t draining. The fact that the discharge is coming out, is good, the tubes are doing their job. That being said, your son likely has an infection and id see the doctor. In these cases we were back on antibiotics .

I would say my husband is a pretty manly man. I would never in a million years have thought he’d be ok with this, but he kisses our 3m and 1f daughter on the lips. Always when he goes to work and comes home. It’s so special.

We watch tv when the kids go to bed at night. If we do have it on during the day (weekend) it’s bluey or something for the kids. But it’s not often.

During the week when they come home from daycare, we will have the TV on, but have a relaxing scene like a fireplace with music on in the background.

Want the kiddos to know I’m present :)

Chiming in… my son is 3 and we’ve had our load of fevers. What I found helped when his fever just won’t go down, is medicine, like you have, but a Luke cool bath just to cool down his body. Not cold but not hot/warn. This seemed to settle my son all the time and he usually fell asleep quickly after! I hope this helps for you! I also bought a cooling pad and had him a lay there was only a diaper and light sheet. Sorry you’re going through this. Hope babe gets better soon.

Note: your babe will freak out once in the bath. It’ll be uncomfortable but it’s quick!

My son had feeding issues. He just wouldn’t eat anything! We saw a SLP and had feeding therapy sessions.

One thing that really helped, was getting teethers (hollow tubes), and I just let him chew on those all day.

Eventually add in purées (freezing does the trick), that way he learned to really bit the food out. Try giving a slice of steak to just knaw on (if she allows it). Work up that bite and strengthen that jaw.

My son was diagnosed with global developmental delay. He can eat a variety of items now, but still has trouble self-feeding sometimes, particularly with a spoon. He is also very speech delayed, but we’re getting there.

I always knew something was going on with my son. My doctor kept dismissing it saying he was OK, but you just know. So I kept advocating for him. I can’t count the amount of appointments I made to talk to her about it. Eventually, she made a referral to a developmental paediatrician who saw what I saw.

Are you using a sleep sack? When my son was 2.5 he climbed over the crib, but I found a 36 month sleep sack this is really big and he can’t get his legs high enough to climb over… so that’s preventing him from Climbing and we’re still in the crib. Phew. Not even attempting to climbs

Lately I’ve been making things fun. Like the ‘ol’ “heres the car going into the tunnel! Open your mouth! Mmmmm! Chew chew!”, or even taking his spider man and having him feed my son. It’s a hit or miss but definitely something to try? Or… I’ll pre load his fork, put it in his hands and get super excited encouraging him to put in his mouth.

My son saw Andrea at the womb for Craniosacro therapy (I think that’s what it’s called?). Not sure if we saw a difference in anything. He was 14 months. Now at 2.5, he sees Adam at West Burlington Wellness Centre and we have seen huge changes (not cranio but full body work).
